Chapter Thirty Four

*Chapter Thirty Four* The boys are back.

“No way” Miles argued as he crossed his arms “She is not leaving our sight, I don’t trust her”

“Ha” I scoffed “That’s funny coming from you”

“What is she seriously going to do?” Daniel tried fighting my right to sleep in my old room on my own but Miles and Damian wouldn’t let that happen.

“I am sleeping in there with her” Miles said stepping towards me, Damian put his hand on Miles’s chest “No you aren’t.”

I bit my cheek to stop me from smiling, at least Damian can be slightly protective over me. “I’ll watch her and you watch him”

Daniel laughed “What am I seriously going to do?”

Damian and Miles gave each other a look, and Miles nodded.

“C’mon brother” Daniel protested as Miles pushed him out the room. “No need to have bad feelings, I didn’t chose your side-“

“The only reason that you chose to stick with Aria is because you have feelings for her!” Damian yelled slightly angry “You have had feelings for her from the start and finally I am out of the way for you to have your chance. Don’t worry I won’t ruin that for you by sleeping with her and having another baby”

My mouth fell open in shock, I knew he had changed but that was too far, I stepped forward and slapped Damian in his face with all my power. I gritted my teeth to hold back the tears threatening to come out “Don’t you ever talk to me again” I said as a warning. He straightened his face after my slap made it flying to the side.

I sat on the roof, this was the place I used to come and think, what did I have to think about before all of this? All those problems seem so small and insignificant now.

My phone started ringing, was it the woman? No it’s too late for her to call… it’s nearing three in the morning. What if it is her? Do I tell Damian? At first I never thought I could betray him like that but now I feel like I have too.

“I need an update” John, my sort of handler in the company growled through my phone.

“Are you never in a good mood?” I questioned without thinking, I wasn’t really allowed to talk to him like that, but right now, things can’t really be any worse.

He was quiet for a minute then said “Do you give me a reason to be?”

“I am following up on a lead” I told him “I will let you know when it leads somewhere”

“Okay” He replied “Be safe”

Be… safe?

“Be safe?” I repeated him with a slight smile.

“Don’t make me regret saying it” He replied with a harsh voice. “Call me when you have more details.” Then hung he hung up the phone.

“Was that her?” Damian asked as he climbed through the window, I looked at him climbing through but then I looked back towards the stars.

I just shook my head.

“I can’t let you out of my sight” He tells me after a small amount of silence. “We don’t really trust people, especially Tony’s side.”

I pursed my lips in a ‘great, thank’s for that pointless information’ and turned to climb back inside, right now, the last place I want to be with Damian is here.
