-x- Aizawa's POV -x-

My eyes pulsed with a tiredness that I had never experienced before. My legs ached with a throbbing pain, produced by my constant crouching upon buildings. My mind was fuzzy with a heavy weight settled atop of it. Still...

Rubbing my strained eyes, I forced them open, scanning the area as my blinks became more frequent.

"He's got to be here somewhere," I mumbled to myself.

A constant feeling of regret invaded my senses as I searched. A young boy's voice echoed through my mind, green tufts of hair falling over those gleeful eyes.

Static erupted from my device, forcing me to fish it out of my pocket. A female voice broke through the cracks, a hint of worry present in her tone. "Eraser, I know you're worried about the kid, but you've been failing to look after yourself. Maybe... Maybe we should take a break for a while?"

My fingers drifted to my temples, rubbing them as I spoke. "One of my students is missing. This is my responsibility."

"Eraser... You never act like this," she sighed, "You're always so... Logical. It's your catchphrase for crying out loud! I'm not saying we can't continue later, but you need rest," she continued, adding, "Of course it's important to help search for the boy, but you have an obligation to your students. How do you think they feel, knowing that one of their classmates is missing?"

A sigh escaped my lips as I processed what she said. She was right.

"Alright... I...," I hesitated, "I'll take a break for now. Later though..."

"I know. Later you can do all the searching you want."

A boy's laugh echoed through my mind as I straightened myself, her voice fading. Regret seeped through my skin, an image of a smiling boy entering my mind. Green tufts fell over his emerald eyes as he grinned, the picture fizzling away as I shook my head.

Clenching my fist, I leapt between the buildings, making my way back home. On my way, however, I caught something out of the corner of my eye as it inadvertently drifted to the side.

Wisps of green sprouted from a boy's head, causing him to bear a striking resemblance to Midoriya. Biting my lip, I hesitated for a moment, but then shook my head.

Ignoring all logic, I slid down the wall, only to meet with nothing. I glanced around the corner, scouring the area until I finally gave up. Of course it was too good to be true.

As I continued back towards my home, my mind drifted to the day's earlier events.

"Hey, where's Deku?" Uraraka questioned upon noticing the boy's empty seat. Her eyes widened for a moment before her mouth snapped shut, with everyone else confused at his disappearance.

Kirishima raised his hand, catching my attention. "Aizawa Sensei, do you know where Midoriya is?"

Sighing, I pressed my hands against the desk. "Unfortunately," I decided to inform them, "Midoriya has been reported as missing."

Weeks Later...

My eyes scanned the room, sunken eyes on each of the student's faces. They all looked down sadly, some with tears pooling in their eyes.

After a classmate has been gone for several weeks, there's no doubt that some sort of foul play had been going on. While it may not have resulted in death, worry still plagued their minds, and I couldn't say differently.

Classes dragged on. They weren't ever as lively as usual. However, the one who seemed the most broken was the one and only Symbol of Peace. All Might himself.
