The missing Mammals.

The asylum was heavily guarded by, what must have been, 20 wolves.
"How are we going to get in there without getting caught?" Judy asked the fox.
"I'll go in first and when it's safe, I'll motion you to follow."
"Do you REALLY think that is going to work?"
Nick shrugged,"Worth a try."
Before the bunny could speak further, Nick left her and snuck behind a wolf who had his back turned, hiding behind a wall, but the wolf smelled him almost instantly. Nick could hear the mammal sniffing for him, the footsteps getting closer. Judy was right, this plan was NOT going to work.
Suddenly, a little howl was heard from where Judy was. Nick smiled as the wolf stopped and howled.
"Dude," one of the wolves said," Cut it out, your gonna start a howl."
"I didn't start it," the guard wolf said in defense.
Judy then howled again, and both wolves started howling, all the other guards joining them which gave Nick and Judy the opportunity to get away from then and to a safe zone,"You are a clever bunny," Nick said, impressed.
Judy then looked around the building,"Now, how do we get inside?"
The bunny and fox both looked up and saw a water tunnel that goes into the building.
"Ugh," Nick said,"My coats is going to get damp as hell."
Judy chuckled a little,"Dont be a baby and let's go."
Nick helped Judy up to the pipe and he leaped up, catching the edge with his paw and pulling himself up.
They then went through the tunnel, looking for their way on and found it.
The two were now inside. That was step one, but now they had another step and that was finding Otterton and Manches.
"Let's see where they could be,"Judy said, using the flashlight on her phone to look around the empty room except for a lot of old hospital equipment.
The two then heard a sound come from a door on the other side of the room.
Nick was reached for the handle, taking it slow to reach but then hesitated and pushed Judy in front of him,"After you, my lady."
Judy rolled her eyes as she opened the door and examined the room. Nick's head the popped through her ears,"Ok, clear."

Judy sighed, walking into the room and saw glass cages everywhere.
"Carrots," Nick said, motioning to claw marks on the floor,"what the hell happened he-"
The fox was cut off by Manches attacked the glass right behind Nick.
"Ah!" Nick yelled, moving away from the door.
"Its Manches," Judy said with a raised brow. The bunny then turned to another cage and found Otterton,"Nick, its Mr. Otterton. We found him."
However, it wasn't the same Emmit Otterton that was described to Judy. He was savage and hungry for blood.
Judy counted all of the cages, all the mammals in each cage and her eyes went wide," Nick, now counting Manches, thats fourteen. Chief Bogo handed out fourteen missing mammal cases...they are ALL here."
"But who would do this?" Nick asked," and why are all these mammals like this?"
The two then heard a door get unlcked," Hide," Judy said.
The two then went into an empty cage where they saw a shocking sight. Mayor Lionhart walking with a badger in a lab coat," I want answers," the lion roared," I want to know what the hell is going on and how we are going to fix it."
"Sir, we have done all the tests we can and we cannot not find our what the problem is. I think...I think its time we consider their biology."
"What?"
Judy then took out her phone. This was info they needed.
"The only mammals going savage is predators. What if they are reverting back to how they used to be. Hunting prey. We need to tell the city. Warn them before it's too late."
"Oh yes. That's a great idea," Lionhart said sarcastically," And what do our think the mammals in the city are going to thing about their mayor who is a lion! I won't have a job."
"Why don't we just tell Bogo?"
"Chief Bogo doesn't need to know, and he is not going to find out."
The bunny and fox looked to each other. Judy put away her phone, they had all the info they needed.
"What do we have here?" A voice said from behind Nick and Judy. The two looked behind them and saw a wolf with a gun pointed at them.
"Uh...roar, I'm savage," Nick said nervously.
"Mayor. We have a couple of spies here," the wolf yelled.
"Hopps?!" Loinhart said,"How did you find me?"
"Afyer what I just saw, I don't think you should be asking the questions," Judy said with a glare.
"That's how it's going to be?" Loinhart saod," Alright then, close the doors!"
The cage then shit, trapping Nick and Judy inside,"No one is going to find out about this, and no dumb bunny or who ever this fox is is going to stop it."
Judy pulled out her phone to try and call the ZPD, but there was no cell service. The bunny tried to get out, but they were trapped. The cage was sealed up good.
"I'm so sorry I dragged you into this, Nick," The bunny said," Dammit, why didn't a call for backup when I had the chance."
Nick felt sorry for the bunny. Her very first case, and this is how it goes down. Nick looked around the cage and a thought came to mind when he saw a very large toilet," Carrots, can you swim?"
Judy looked confused until she saw were Nick's eyes were and said," You are genius fox!"
Judy put her phone in a zip lock bag and the two flushed themselves down one at a time.
The came out the same place they came in and landed in the water. Nick came up first, taking a deep breath and looking around," Carrots!" Nick yelled after not finding her," Hopps!" Nick was now scared. What is she didn't make it?,"Judy!!!"
The bunny then popped out of the water coughing, her phone in hamd,"He have to tell Bogo!"

Chief Bogo was sitting at his desk, looking through the files. There were no leads. There were no witnesses. There wasn't anything.
Clawhouser then hurried into the room," Chief Bogo!"
"What is it, Clawhouser?" Bogo roared," Cant you see I am trying t solved the missing mammals case?!"
Clawhouser then smiled," Chief, that what I came here to tellyou. Hopps called. She found all of them."
"I don't have time for Jokes Ben," the buffalo said.
"It isn't a joke. She sent me a video of what happened. She wasn't wrong about them being savage, sir. It's pretty scary."
Bogost eyes rent wide as the fat cheetah showed him the video," Where are they?"
"An old asylum off the rainforest district, sir."
"Get all officers there now."

Within moments, the building was surrounded by police. Judy started walking Loinhart and the badger to a cop car, reading him his right,"Officer, I am only trying to protect the city."
"No, you were trying to protect your job."
"Hopps, we still don't know why this is happening. This could be getting bad. Zootooia could fall apart."
Judy knew the lion was right. They didn't know why this was happening. The bunny put him in the car and her thought wandered on the subject."
Bogo found Nick leaving the building, finally being able to get his coat of fur to were it was halfway presentable," As promised," the buffalo said, handing Nick and coffee.
"Good," Nick said, accepting it," Guess you could say you were wrong about Hopps, huh?"
"Dont push it," Bogo said, walking away.
Nick smiled and looked around. She actually found all of them. Nick felt pride in her and seeing how happy she was to solve her first case was something Nick could only define as being cute, though he would say it to her face.
Nick hadn't scene her smile like then sense high school when they were together.
The fox thought about those days and how much he missed them, but could he put himself through it if he were to forgive the bunny and take her back? Nick sighed a little. After what they had just went through together Had he, once again, fallen in love with her?

AN- There is guys. So, out favorite mammals in Zootopia are starting to think, but about two different things. How will the next chapter play out? I know you all remember how it went in the movie, but with this particular story..it might be more heartbreaking. You have been warned. But, till then.....
