Trying Not To Love You

Judy had been back to bunnyburrow for three days and every day seemed to be getting worse. The bunny would often see the news reports or newspaper articles telling of how Zootooia had gone down and Judy knew it was all her fault. Chasing after her dream had destroyed everything, including her new found friendship with Nick which she had wanted to go further, but of course, she messed that up too.

The bunny was selling carrots to locals at one of her father's produce stands and she was feeling down. Bonnie and Stu knew why, and they wanted to help her, but didn't know how.

"Are you ok?" Stu asked. Of course it was a dumb question, but what more could he do?

"I'm fine," Judy said.

"No your not. Your ears are drooping," Bonnie said.

Judy sighed," All I ever wanted to do was to make the world a better place, mom, but i didn't the opposite. I thought I had Nick back, but I messed that up too. Now where am I? Back to carrots farming."

"Sweetheart," Stu said, walking closer," Its going to get better. I promise."

"I just keep thinking about all the poor predators I let down and hurt."

"Its not your fault."

Judy looked away from her dad and said," I just made life do much harder for so many innocent predators."

"Oh, not al of them," Stu said with a smile as Gideon Grey pulled in front front of the stand.

"Gideon?"

"Yeah, we work with him now," Stu said," He told how much he stabbed and after his pie business started getting big, he asked with we could partner up. And if not for you, we wouldnt have even considered it."

"His grandfather also grows night howlers, and those really keep the bugs away from the produce," Bonnie said.

Judy looked to her mom shicked," What?"

"Yeah," Stu said with a grin," Those flowers over there. Really good for getting rid of bugs, but you eat one, oh darn if it isn't going to be bad for you."

"Yep," Bonnie contimued," Your uncle Terry ate one whole when we were kind and went nuts."

"The term I would use is Savage," Stu replied," He bit the hell out of your mother."

"Night howlers," Judy whispered," Theyre... flowers. Not wolves. That's what doing this! Dad I need the truck, Now! Keys!"

The two bunnies were confused as Judy snatched the keys and ran for her old truck Stu decided to keep.

"Do you have any idea what she is talking about?" Stu asked his wife.

"I couldn't understand what she was saying."

Gideon then came from behind the van and saw Judy speed down the highway," What did I miss?"

Judy sped fast toward Zootopia. She could have went to the ZPD. She could have went to bellwether. The bunny could have went straight to Weaselton who stole the bus from the flowers. However, Judy didn't need anyone else. She knew who she needed and it wasn't until now that she realized she needed him for more than this case. For seven years, they had been apart and Judy felt an emptiness inside that wasn't fully realized till she came back to Zootopia. The bunny needed her fox.

Judy drive till she finally found Finnicks van parked in an ally, where she knocked on the door.

"Who is it?" Finnick said, holding a bat, but his face went soft when he saw Judy.

"I need to find Nick...please."

Finnick looked down," Judy...I know where Nick is, but...I need to tell you something first."

"I dont have time."

"Just a minute...please."

Judy nodded her head as she looked to the fox," What is it?"

"That night that you and Nick 'fought'. It wasn't Nick you were texting...Greg had hacked into you and Nick's accounts and sent all the messages. Yeah, Nick did get drunk that night, but that was because Greg truckee him into it, because Terry, from school, played him to do it."

Judy's ears went down," So...all of that wasn't real?"

Finnick nodded his head.

"Where is he?" Judy pleaded.

"Under the bridge along Santain Drive."

Judy thanked the fox and got back in the truck. All these years they had been apart..and it wasn't meant to end that way. Judy's eyes were open, and her heart was now clear. He was always her fox.

The bunny finally found the bridges described to her by finnick and ran under it till she saw Nick.

"Nick," Judy yelled, coming to him," Night howlers. They aren't wolves, they're toxic flowers. Someone is targeting mammals on purpose and making them go savage."

"Isnt that interesting," Nick said, standing up," Go tell it to someone who cares, Judy."

The fox started to walk away, but stopped when Judy started to speak, " I know you went forgive me, and I went blame you," Judy said," I was terrible to you, and I hurt you, and I lost your trust. I see that Nick, and I know I should try to move on, but I cant. Nick, for seven years I have spent my life trying to forget you. Trying not to think about you. Trying not to love you, but I keep failing, and now I know why. Because what we had was never meant to end. Finnick told me about Greg, and I know he told you too. So, what happened that night was my fault, because I didn't have the guts to try and work it out. I didn't call you the next morning to talk it over, and I have regretted that decision for years. Because you're right, I am just a bunny, and I have never been able to do anything on my own. I have looked to you for help and you didn't let me down. You have never let me down, but I keep letting you down. I swear Nick, I will not do that again. I need you help Nick. I cant do it without you. I WONT do it without you. I need you Nick. Because...I Still love you."

There was silence as Judy's tears fell to the ground. The silence was broken but the carrots pen saying," I still love you."

Judy looked up confused, till Nick lifted the pen and pushed the button again," I still love you."

"Just so you know, Carrots, this is not being erased until Me and Stu are buddies again."

Judy laughed as she ran and hugged Nick tightly," I cant lose you again."

Nick kissed Judy on the head and said," You wont, Carrots. Because I love you too. I never stopped."

"So, you with me on this?"

"I got nothing better to do," the fox smiled," Let's save the city, Officer Fluff."
