Hiiiii... Let me explain... I finished WAY earlier than I thought I would and I'm an impatient piece of crap 😂😓 That and I'm bored and I need to know which one shots to start writing. Literally, writing is more than just a hobby to me, it's changed my life and helped me release all my negative feelings. It's helped me fight against depression as well and I don't know what I'd do without it.

This cute little one shot was requested by @Fyodor-lover. In all honesty, I didn't think I would do this justice but I believe I tried my best to capture it. This was my first time writing with a male reader and I realized it isn't that different from writing for female, but rather I just had to change the pronouns.

(I don't own Bungou Strays Dogs or any of it's characters. They all belong to Kafka Asagiri. This is purely for entertainment purposes.) Enjoy!

"Hey (Y/n), can you help me with this report, please?~"

"Uh.. But Dazai, won't we get in trouble again?"

The brunette smiled widely and winked, "It'll be our secret."

A barely visible blush formed on his cheeks before sighing, giving in to his senpai's request. It's always been like this, ever since he met the tall, brown eyed male he's wanted to get closer to him. At first, Dazai didn't even know he was there, mostly because he was too shy to talk to him. Now, it was as if none of that happened. Sitting next to him, (Y/n) looked over at his companion's computer and looked at the file he needed to complete. It was about the case him and Kunikida had been trying to solve the week before, a bunch of people in the underground society had gotten their hands on a medical drug and started using it like it was adderall. People were falling like flies due to overdoses, now drug dealers were having fights over it. It made him scrunch his nose, what a messed up world they live in.

Tilting his head at the screen, he overlooked every detail before looking up at his friend, "Are you sure you should be taking this case? Not that I don't think you can handle it, but-"

"There's no need to worry about me... I'm alright now." he smiled and ruffled his (h/c) hair, trying to push past the touchy subject. The man gazing at him frowned ever so slightly, he knew more about Dazai than anyone else in the office. It was an accident really, he wanted to check on the bandaged man due to him being awfully quiet that day only to find him surrounded with alcohol and a razor blade in his hand. No one knew how much Dazai was going through, but he did and all he could do was helplessly watch from afar.

Before he joined the agency, he used to live in Tokyo with his parents and big brother. His childhood was fairly normal until his mother had drove his older brother to the breaking point and forced him to move to a different country. Then his father left his mother for another woman because she was too controlling, which damaged his pride. The house was only left with him and his psychotic mother, which left him with bruises and heartbreak. She often blamed her baby boy for the others leaving her, claiming she never loved him and wanted to give him up for adoption. Here's the thing, his mom had basically planned her whole life out. Graduate high school with straight A's, get into the best college, work for the greatest company; marry the perfect guy, have two kids(a boy and a girl), and live in a house with an all around porch stationed with a rose garden. A.k.a the perfect life. But three things never happened. She never got into the best college, ended up marrying a cheater, and was stripped of her chance of having a little girl to dress up.

(Y/n) didn't blame her, it was his grandparents whom spoiled her rotten. Even so, he would be upset his dreams didn't come true too, but still. Beating your child because you didn't get what you wanted was childish and stupid. It tore him apart when he realized he could never receive the love he craved from his mom, so he ran away to Yokohama. He met Ranpo, who encouraged him to come work at the agency. The pay wasn't exactly fantastic but it was enough, and to be provided with an apartment made it all the more heart warming. And meeting Dazai changed his life, literally.
