Emmeline's POV.

I made it to the house before Billy and Max, their parents weren't home so I left a note in both Billy and Max's room saying I needed to go make sure the demo-dogs were really gone. It wasn't a complete lie, I did want to check to be sure, but I didn't tell them I had to go home. So, when I went home after being sure all of the demo-dogs were dead, I found my parents gone, but Tommy was home. I had changed in the woods near my house, since I had several outfits hidden out there for me. He was standing in front of the outside door leading to my room. He was pissed.

"Where the hell have you been?" He seethed as I made my way to him.

"Staying over at a friends." I tell him honestly. I was friends with Max.

"Yeah, right. Like a freak like you could have friends. Why were you at Billy's house?" He growled out as he grabbed my arm, pulling me into the main part of the house. He couldn't get into my room cause it's locked.

"I'm friends with his step sister and I was tutoring her." I tell him as he lets me go, shoving me into the kitchen. I get the hint and make us food.

"I don't want you going anywhere near Billy." He says as he stands at the counter, leaning against it with his arms crossed. "Is that clear?"

I don't respond, I focus on cooking and before he can repeat himself, the house phone goes off. He's standing right beside it, so he picks it up. I can't hear the other side of the conversation, but obviously Tommy didn't want to hand the phone over to me to talk to them.

"Sorry, Mr. and Mrs. Hale aren't here right now." He said as soon as he picked up the phone and then he continued after listening to the person talk to him. "I'm sorry, their daughter isn't home right now either. Can I take a message?" He growls. He listens to the person, staring straight at me and I watch his glare deepen as he growls out. "Goodbye."

"Who was it?" I ask as I take the pan off the stove, putting soup in a bowl for him. As I'm about to dish myself up some, he grabs my arm.

"You were with Billy. You two getting friendly or somethin'?" He hissed.

"No, Tommy. He's probably just calling to see if I was coming back to tutor Max tonight." I tell him, looking down at the floor like always.

"Stop lying to me, Emmeline. You think your precious Billy can protect you or something? He's my friend! He doesn't care about you!" He beats me before pushing me to my room. "I don't wanna see your face."

I limp down my stairs, locking the door quickly and making my way to my bed. I had bruises littering my torso, and I was bleeding from several places. I sigh as I grab my first aid kit from my personal bathroom down here. I start to clean the cuts, only wearing my jeans and bra, since I took my shirt off to clean them. There's a knock on my back door before I can clean the rest of them. I get up and move the blinds slightly so I can see out of it. Standing there, I see a worried Billy as he glances around cautiously. I unlock the door and pull it open just so he can see my face, hiding my body behind the door.

"What are you doing here, Billy?" I ask him softly, he sighs in relief.

"I called earlier and Tommy picked up, said you weren't home. What's going on?" Billy asks as he pushes his way through the door. He doesn't turn to look at me, just looks around my room as I close and lock the door.

"It's nothing, really. Tommy must've told you that before I got home." I shrug and lie as I go to grab my shirt quickly. He grabs it from me though.

"What happened to you? Did I do that?" He asked, looking at the bruises with a guilty look. I chuckle and shake my head.

"You only pushed me down, and threw me in my wolf form, that wouldn't even leave a mark on me, Billy." I soothe softly. I become serious as I hear Tommy upstairs. "You should go home now."

"No, not until you tell me what's going on. Why's Tommy here?"

"My parents are gone, he's probably here to look after me." I shrug.

"Emmeline! Who the fuck are you talking to?!" Tommy slams his fist against my door loudly, making me flinch. "Better not be Billy!"

"It's no one!" I yell back up and start to push Billy to the back door. "You need to go. Now, Billy. Please. Tommy can't see you here."

"Why not? He's my friend, and so are you." Billy scoffs, standing still.

"He doesn't want me anywhere near you. Go." I tell him, hearing Tommy shout more. Obviously he was drinking dad's beer upstairs.

"No. I'm not leaving you here." He says, staring at the door Tommy's at. Obviously he's piecing together what's really happening here.

"Billy, please. You being here is just going to make it worse..." I plead.

"I'm not gonna let him hurt you more, Em. He shouldn't be hurting you. You are so much stronger than him, why do you let him do this?"

"Because, I know that if I don't let him use me as his personal punching bag, I know he will just go after someone else, like his girlfriend Carol. I may not like her, but I know she won't be able to handle his abuse. I am the only person who can, and I won't let him hurt anyone else."

"I won't let him hurt you, I'll kill him." Billy threatens.

"You can't, Billy. He's my cousin, he's family." I tell him, pushing him more to the door. I can hear Tommy starting to break my other door and when it finally breaks apart, I had managed to lock Billy outside.

"You're in deep shit now." Tommy growled as he advanced on me.
