-Seven Months Later-
"I can't believe you are going to meet my family today," I said nervously, twiddling with my trembling fingers. I was sitting on the passenger's seat in a car that Jungkook rented, sweating profusely despite the cold breeze hitting my face through the vents. We have only been on the road for two hours, and the journey was a total of six, but every second was a dreadful feeling of anxiousness. He kept his eyes forward, focusing on driving while using his right hand to squeeze my thigh gently. "It's going to be fine. I mean, we have been dating for nine months now, so it was time."
I nodded in agreement, a rush of tranquil taking over my body, "I'm just worried. You are my first boyfriend, so I don't know how this works." He hummed in support, cocking his head to the side for a split second, he clicked his tongue, "Well, what about me? I never had to meet the parents. You're my first girlfriend." I sunk into the leather seat, sighing into the window as I feared for the moment to come.
"Aigoo, poor baby," he cooed, petting my hair as if I was a child. "It's not funny," I retort, but a small chuckle sneaked passed through my lips. "Then why did you laugh?" He grinned, turning to give me a full glimpse of his glowing face before he went back to see the road before him. "I'm putting on music," I told him, plugging the aux cord into my phone. "Is there something you want to listen to?" "I don't mind," he replied, putting on his signal to merge to the right lane. "Even country music?" I teased, knowing very well he gets weirdly emotional and sentimental, even with the more upbeat tunes. "I knew I shouldn't have told you," he sighed, chuckling to himself as he leaned back into the leather seat and kept one hand on the steering wheel.
A few more tiring hours passed by, stopping by numerous of rest stops and fine dining in homey diners along the way. "I am not kidding, I might shit my pants right now," I warned, straining my breath as it wouldn't pass through my airway. "Isn't that my line?" he commented back, taking a few more turns through the residential area of the city. "I should've told them you were my gay friend," I sighed, reminiscing the facetime chat where Jungkook exposed himself in front of the monitor to my family. "Well, we were lucky enough that I wasn't shirtless with only briefs on," he added, clicking his tongue.
In a flash, Jungkook parked the car right in front of the house. Convenient. He turned off the engine and held the keys in his hand, sinking into his seat while he waited for my signal. The longer I stared at the front door, the more it felt surreal. "Uh, babe?" Jungkook called out, pulling me away from what felt like a fantasy. "Yeah?" I replied, looking over his entire being, how lucky I am to be able to date such a wonderful man. "Can we hurry it up? I kind of have to pee," he chuckled faintly, his knee bouncing as he focused on holding in his urine. Which is probably from nerves or because he decided not to use the restroom at the rest stop.
I opened the car door, "Let's go." He gave me a reassuring and confident smile, eagerly opening the door and slamming it shut behind him. "Woah, your house is so cute," he commented, appreciating the lawn decor my mother obsesses over: colorful windmills resembling flowers, wind chimes hanging from the lemon tree which was vibrant with life, and beautiful rose bushes. "Yeah, my mom is crazy about first impressions when it comes to the house," I responded, hooking my arm around his. I slowly led him through the gate and onto the front porch, knocking on the door, "Mom, Dad!" In a few short seconds, the door swung wide open, my mother pulling me in for a tight hug that figuratively almost killed me to death.
"Mom, I c-can't...breathe," I stuttered, the compression on my chest restricting me from my source of air. "Let me have my turn," my dad whined, pulling me in quickly after my mom finally let me go. "I missed you guys," I muffled in his chest, feeling his lips on my scalp. "We missed you too." "Hey guys," I said, backing up next to Jungkook and hooking his arm once again. "This is Jungkook..." We both looked at each other, our hands squeezing together as a sign of strength, "My boyfriend." My parents smiled widely at him, my father making the first move, "Nice to finally meet you." Jungkook speedily shook his hand, bowing his head slightly. He then turned over to my mother, sticking out his hand, but she gently pushed it away, initiating a sweet hug between them. He was surprised at first, but his tense body soon eased up, carefully giving her a light squeeze.
