"I've got it!" Shouta exclaimed angrily as Hizashi came to take a box from him.
"No, you don't!" Hizashi told him, laughing a bit.
"Just because I was in the hospital doesn't mean I can't help." Shouta, no matter how much he was arguing, let Hizashi take the box.
"'Just because I got my hero license suspended doesn't mean I can't do hero work.' Yes, it does!" Hizashi walked away as Shouta rolled his eyes and smiled at his husband walking into the house with the box.
"You okay dad?" Kyoka smiled up at him.
"Perfect," Shouta replied, hugging his daughter as he smiled.
"I'm gonna miss you..." Shouta mumbled, leaning against Hizashi.
"I'll miss you too... But it's not that long. Only two months. I'll be back by January. And besides, you have the kids to look after you." Hizashi told him, wrapping an arm around him.
"Doesn't change the fact you'll be gone." Shouta was so obviously crying at this point it broke Hizashi's heart.
Hizashi picked up Shouta and put him down in his lap. Shouta seemed confused and the slightest bit scared when he did. Hizashi, not really knowing what else to do at this point, kissed Shouta who returned the affection and smiled when Hizashi pulled away.
"I love you," Shouta mumbled, nuzzling into Hizashi's shoulder.
For a moment Hizashi was silent and Shouta feared he wouldn't hear it back. Feared nothing had changed. But the reply came and Shouta couldn't have been happier.
"I love you too Sho..."
"Wait. I need to do something." Shoto called before the cops could do anything else.
"Shoto..." Shouta warned him, scared Shoto was going to hit Hizashi or something.
But he didn't, and instead went up to the blonde in handcuffs and hugged him. Everyone could swear he was smiling but they weren't sure since his face was hidden by Hizashi's shirt.
"Thank you... For looking after dad, for everything you've done... Thank you... Pap..." Shoto said into Hizashi's chest.
The other three siblings, one by one, ran over to the two and also hugged the blonde. Yuga first, looking like he was going to cry, Kyoka next, a big smile on her face and then Fumikage. After being literally dragged by Dark. Shouta smiled at them before looking to Hizashi who smiled back at him.
