Part II
The department store was mostly empty, as Jisoo and Jennie had strategically planned to come on a weekday, when most were working.
Still, their security trailed, far enough to be forgotten, but close enough in the event of a freak episode from a fan.
Jisoo was six months pregnant, and once again, her demeanor had shifted.
Jennie was quite pleased to find that she'd shed her insecurities, and was pretty much back to being her normal self.
The two were hand in hand, making their way towards the baby section, getting ready to buy clothes and necessities for the baby's arrival. They already had been gifted much of what they'd need, but it was more about the experience, to them.
"She's going to need a crib...and another one, in case the first one breaks. Toys. Bins of toys, Jisoo- wait, no. A playroom. God, Jisoo, I didn't even think about that-" Jennie's ramblings were cut off with a stolen kiss, Jisoo unable to resist smiling.
"What?" Jennie's brow furrowed, and Jisoo's smile grew.
"Baby steps, Jen. Pun intended. We're here for clothes. And, need I remind you, not due to a shortage, in fact, we have too many already. But the book I read recommended doing this as a milestone."
"Did the book mention a spare crib?" Jennie quirked a brow.
"I don't think the book assumes the average reader can afford two cribs."
Jisoo sighed, taking a look at Jennie's loose and summery look. Her crop top on, tight jeans, a hat that Jisoo couldn't pull off , even when she wasn't pregnant.
"What?" Jennie frowned, pausing immediately.
"Nothing." Jisoo assured. "I'm just jealous of you right now."
Jennie wore a look of guilt. "A few more months. Hang in there." She murmured.
Jisoo tsked. "Are you kidding? I'm enjoying this, every second."
"Really?" Jennie brightened, and Jisoo swooned.
Jennie had truly been going above and beyond to ensure that Jisoo's pregnancy was not only the most comfortable, but also the most luxurious.
Little did Jisoo know, Jennie wasn't at all finished, in her endless parade of thanking the woman she loved for carrying their child.
"Baby, you treat me like a queen." Jisoo assured her. "Now come on, let's go find cute baby clothes we don't need."
They made their way over, stunned by the collection of tiny outfits, sneakers, and accessories there were. Colorful and an ever constant reminder of the new addition to their lives, everything on the racks fascinated Jisoo and Jennie to no end.
"Do you think she'll be a Converse girl? Or a Vans girl? And no, Jennie, Louboutins are not-"
"Oh. My. God." Jennie whispered, freezing in place, eyes wet with the beginnings of tears.
"Babe?" Jisoo's head snapped up, and panic set in on her expression. "Jennie, what is it?"
She followed her wife's gaze to a rack, displaying very, very tiny footie pajamas, clearly meant for infants.
"Jen." Jisoo breathed out a relieved laugh, but Jennie's eyes were full of raw emotion, adoration, it seemed.
"They're so small." She whispered, reaching out to hold the small foot portion, her hand entirely too large.
"I know." Jisoo murmured, resting her hand on the small of Jennie's back. "It's a little wild, right?"
"Totally." Jennie sniffled.
