Writers. A truly special category of people, who are all characterized by a vivid imagination and a grand talent of capturing this imagination and imprinting it on paper, with passion. And although they share same characteristics, the reasons they write are completely different to each one. Some write because they have ideas, stories and they want to share them with the world. Others write because it's their passion and they won't stop even if they where told to stop!
Then, there is my reason to write.
I write because I want to get some things out of my chest. And when I say some, I mean an entire book full of what I want to say. You see, I have secrets that I can't keep inside of me any longer, nor it's healthy for me to. Now you'll ask me: "Why write a book about them? Don't you have friends or family to tell your secrets?" I wouldn't count on them really. See, part of my secrets is how I managed to lose my friends and family or I should better say, how they lost me. My secrets are keeping me away from them here and 2 years give or take. But, to be fair, they are also how I'm keeping them safe. I know, I know it sounds weird. How can the same secrets that keep me away from them, also be protecting them? It's actually quite simple, if you know one very basic thing about heroes. The super-kind in particular.
You see, if a superhero lives a double life, they must keep their hero life away from their families and friends so they can be safe, cause heroes attract villains. In order to do so, secrets have to be kept and lies have to be told. Like all other heroes, I also had to lie to my family and friends and keep secrets from them, for their protection. In my case though, this wasn't enough to keep them safe and I had to leave them forever, without them even knowing. This may sound extreme to many, but for someone who is trained by Elves to fight Vampires, while at the same time trying to protect the whole of Nature, leaving them probably isn't the most extreme action I've done. Not by a long shot!
I do have to apologise now, cause I imagine with all of these information I just confused you even more now. My apologies, but as you will figure out soon enough, this is a weird story on it's own, although, I'm pretty sure you'll find it fascinating none the less.
See this may seem like a sad story at first glance, and thought I can't deny that, I can assure you this is actually an intriguing story, most of it. This is a story of courage, strength, compassion and what it means fighting for the ones you love. A story that nothing is as it seems, because sometimes allies and enemies aren't what they seem. Furthermore, it is also a story of what happens when you get involved in a war between Elves and Vampires over ancient artifacts... so there's that too. Don't try it at home!
Well, I'm sure that by now you just want the story to begin and you're right, so without further due, welcome to my crazy-crazy world!
Oh my, where are my manners? I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Maria and I am The Guardian Of Nature, this is my story.
