Ever slept like you don't wan to wake up? That was my first sleep at camp, comfy and nice. Or at least it would have been, if it wasn't for Mamma Mia the song playing on the megaphones at full volume!
"Mamma Mia... mmm here I go again... mymy how can I resist ya..." I have this unexplainable habit, when I hear I song I know in my sleep, I mumble it. Honestly, I don't know why.
Normally I wouldn't have a problem, but it was so loud, it woke me up. I grabbed my pillow, putting it over my head to try blocking the music. Don't get me wrong, love this song, but when I say they had it on full volume, I mean full volume! I was groaning in frustration.
There was a knock on the door, but I didn't hear it to answer. Crystallia opened the door and got in anyway, allowing light from the living room to enter with her. Herself, singing Mamma Mia. "I've been angry and sad about things that you do. Good morning Maria!" I couldn't see her, but I swear I could hear her smiling as she kept singing. "I can't count all the times that I've told you we're through!" Not a bad voice by the way.
"At least she didn't hear me sing." I thought, then raised my voice to speak. "How can you be so happy when you wake up with the music at maximum?"
She opened the window and shutters so sunlight and fresh air can fill the room. That lead the music to sound even louder and she flinched a little and covered her ears, Elven hearing is better that Human. "Elves don't sleep like Humans, I've been awake all the time. Also, I happen to love Mamma Mia and told Rondonnen to put this song on the laptop to wake you up, guess I forgot to tell him to keep the volume level low, cause of the megaphone is right above this window." She was half shouting so I could hear her.
I took my head off the pillow to see her. For me it wasn't SO loud that I had to cover my ears. She was wearing her Zombie Apocalypse suit, I much preferred her with that than the dress. She had a thick leather glove, like bird trainers have for birds with sharp claws, hanging from one of her belts. "You showed an Elf how to play a song at the computer, but you didn't show them the volume bar? Seriously?"
"I'll go tell him right now." That smile again. "On another note, today is your first training day. Go wash your teeth, face, braid your hair or make it a ponytail, trust me you'll need it. Bathroom is the door on the other side of the living room." She made her way through the room, towards the door. "Meet me at The Prancing Pony when you are ready!" With that she was out.
I quickly threw the sheet off of me, yawned and stretched, then hugged Prince and Rozita. "Good morning doggies!" Always with every plushie I had, I acted like they were alive. Talked to them, give them different personalities. It was ether child imagination or just a consequence of seeing Toy Story.
Even made them talk with different voices. "Morning Maria!" Deep voice for Prince. "Where are you going?" Soft voice for Rozita. "To the Inn, today is my first training session!" I told them enthusiastically as I got off the bed and reached bellow it for my backpack. As I looked in the backpack I saw my paper cutter and lightsaber. I held both items in my hands thinking if I should take them or not. "No. I won't need them." I left them on the side table and searched a few more seconds for my toothpaste and toothbrush.
"You'll do great, we are sure!" Prince said and I made Rozita nod her head in agreement with one arm, while I grabbed my things with the other. "Thanks guys!" I smiled to them and made my way to the bathroom.
To my surprise, it too was a Human room. Gray marble floor, walls of dark white stone rough in the touch, but smooth at the part of the shower, itself separated by the rest of the bathroom by dull glass. Dark wooden cupboard with white porcelain washbasin on it, two small wooden cups and a large oval mirror with matching wooden frame as the cupboard. There were also a toothbrush, a toothpaste on one of the wooden cups and various soaps, conditioners, shampoos on the shower. "Nice to see that Crystallia is taking care of her hygiene." The music stopped and I sighed relieved, leaning over the washbasin. "Thank God! Some peace." I brushed my teeth, washed my face quickly and made my hair a low ponytail, which was challenging since my hair looked like a Lion's mane. Looking at my reflection one last time, I left my stuff in the empty wooden cup and went to my room again.
