Her.
I was not prepared for her.
I couldn't believe it! Was I seen correctly? Was she actually there, in frond of me, outside my yard-door? How was she here, how did she came here and most importantly why was she there? All this questions pasted thru my mind in a mater of not even half a second and then my mind went off, I couldn't think anything nor process anything. I just blankly stared at her.
I guess, she must have noticed that, cause the next time she spoke she seemed a bit unsure.
'Emm, may I come in?' She asked me with her head tilted a little to the left. 'You are Maria right? Maria Davarinou, daughter of Agathi Davarinou?' Weird. Although this was a question, there was no question in her tone. Like she knew who I was, but still... she asked.
Not knowing what I was doing and still staring blankly at her, I grabbed the door tightly and shut it closed in her face... and with to much force, may I add.
Once I shut the door, her eyes widened in surprise and she took a small step back, scratching the back of her neck. 'Well... that didn't go as expected.'
Arianna let a loud squeal upon the impact, which was the only thing that brought me back to reality and I squealed too once I heard her. 'Good Lord what did I do?' I said out loud.
'WHAT INDEED! What's the matter with you Maria, why did you do that?' Arianna was staring at me in shock. She had never before seen me do something like that and neither had I to be honest.
'GIRLS!!! WHAT IS HAPPENING DOWN THERE?' Mom was literally coming down the stares screaming at what she heard. "Marvelous..." I thought sarcastically.
'WHAT THE H*LL IS GOING ON DOWN HERE AND WHY DOES IT SOUND LIKE AN EARTHQUAKE JUST HAPPENED?' And she was furious.
'MARIA OPENED THE DOOR AND THERE WAS THIS WOMAN AND SHE ASKED MARIA TO COME IN AND MARIA JUST SHUT THE DOOR CLOSED LIKE THERE IS NO TOMORROW!'
'WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT MARIA, ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND? YOU'RE GOING TO BREAK THE DOOR IN TWO!'
'CAN BOTH OF YOU JUST SHUT UP AND LET ME EXPLAIN MYSELF FOR A FREAKING MINUTE?'
'YES! And I hope that you have a h*ll of an excuse about your behavior!' Mom crossed her hands over her chest and so did Arianna. I had never seen both of them so angry at me. It would almost frightened me, if I wasn't so mad at myself also. Time to explain I thought to myself.
'Alright, so when we where leaving grandpa and grandma I saw a woman smiling at me and that same woman is right outside our ward and she knows my name!' I pointed at the door looking at it with a scared eye.
'What?' Mom let her hands fall to her sides and in an instant she went from furious to confused. 'Oh Mary... Does this woman have long black hair?' I looked her in disbelieve.
'Y-Yes. You know her?'
'I do, I do, I am so sorry Mary this is my fault. Jesus, I forgot.' She ran her palms through her dark brown hair, she was now sad. 'She is here to talk to you about a summer camp.'
'What?' Both me and Arianna said at the same time.
'Wha wha what? What do you mean she is here to talk about a summer camp? I am pretty sure that does not happen like that!' Arianna put her hands to her hips, looking at mom with a questioning look.
'It's true. She is here to talk to you about a special summer camp you can go for free.' Mom had a guilty look in her eyes. 'I just thought it would be nice to keep it as a surprise. She was at grandma and grandpa's house cause I told her to talk to them, I just forgot to call and give them a heads up.'
