"What does it say?" Teagan asks. "Let's see," I say as I open the note.
Meet us by the pier, bring supplies that will last.
Be quick.
"That's written by Cannon. That was his messy handwriting!" Kacey exclaims. "I have food and powerade, enough to last me about three days," Teagan states. "What do you guys have?" I opened my backpack to look. I have three granola bars, two waters, a flip phone, and a flashlight. "I don't have enough food and I could use some water," I state. "Same here," Kacey adds.
We walk down to Chummies Gas Pit. "Save as much money as you can," Kacey suggests. We go in and I grab two bags of doritos and three waters. I pay and go back to my bike.
About five minutes later the girls come out. "Took you two so long?" I groan. "We got more supplies than you," Teagan says. We begin the ride down to the Pier. It is a very long ride and requires some breaks. I wonder what Cannon and the others are up too.
"Can we take a break yet?" I ask. "Sure," Teagan and Kacey say at the same time. We park our bikes on the side of the highway. "How much further?" Teagan asks Kacey. "Not much Squirt, only about 15 minutes up the road," Kacey replies.
I look around at our surroundings. It feels like we are being watched. "Something doesn't feel right guys," I claim looking into the forest. I see no birds or other animals. The forest is completely quiet except for the wind and our breathing. "The forest is almost too quiet, it's not normal no birds chipmunks or even bugs," I say wearily "It's almost like the wild life is too scared to come around here."
Crunch, Something is in the woods, and it's watching us. "Guys we gotta go, Squirt, Gray get on your bikes," Kacey whispers. We all get on our bikes, there is a loud sound that sounds like a pop can opening coming from behind and some shouting.
I look behind to see Orange human like creatures with weird guns shooting at a man with black curly hair. He has to be in his early fifties. He shouts "Run! It's you guys next! You're going to save us all!" They shoot him in the back of the head. The creatures disappear.
We stopped biking about seven minutes up the road. Teagan is crying and Kacey is comforting her. "What were those?" I question. "Tho-Those were Tringers," Teagan stutters. "What are Tringers Squirt?" Kacey asks while comforting Teagan. "I guess the only thing my family was ever good for was filling my head with shit like this. I never believed them, until now," Teagan states.
"My parents always told me that I am one of the special ones, that's also why they wanted to get rid of me and maybe why they were mean to me" Teagan mumbles
"Tringers are creatures from another planet, the legend said that when they came, chosen kids ages ten through twenty two would be granted these powers. I think they were called Recs."
"The kids that get these Recs are the ones the Tringers are after. After the Tringers get us they will kill everyone on the planet. After they kill everyone they will just leave the lifeless planet and go hunt down another planet." Teagan lets out a breath and starts crying again.
"It's going to be okay Squirt, you are safe with us," Kacey said trying to sound confident. "We should get to the Pier."
We ride our bikes to the Pier. when we arrive we see something we never expected would ever happen, it's horrible.
