As we walk out of my tiny one bed motel room my mind wanders. Am I really the leader of a war against an alien species. Why me? Am I really worthy of this role, am I going to make it out alive?

We walk in Kacey, Cannon, and Grayson's motel room. "Guess the little soldier got what she had always wanted," Snickered Cannon "To lead a war," I look away when he speaks. I can't do this right now. "Shut up Cannon," Rylee sneered. "Thanks Ry," I whisper.

I walk over in front of the bed and plop down in between Grayson and Rylee. Rylee casually reaches over and holds my hand. She leans over and whispers "I am like you. I have recs," I look over at her, she is staring ahead. I leaned over to her ear "Do you want to talk about it?" I whisper. She shakes her head.

"Boys are you guys all packed?" Kacey questioned. "Yes boss," Cannon affirmed. "Yeah, I believe so." Grayson responded. "Okay then, time to get this crew on the road," Kacey declared.

We leave the motel room and then the motel. "Uh guys, we have a problem," Grayson worried. "We don't have a vehicle," We all looked around and next at each other.

"I can hijack a car for us," Cannon announced. We all turn our heads in his way. I look at Rylee, she has the same feeling that I have. No good. "There is a supermarket down the road. I can easily get one from there," Cannon confirms. He is clearly confident in his decision.

"Okay, but we take one that is cheap and in the center of the lot so that we are not seen," I speak up. "You heard the boss, let's get a move on," Cannon hollers. We begin the walk to the supermarket.

Rylee and I walk behind the others. "Can you do anything other than telekinesis yet?" I inquire. "No" She replied. "Okay" I respond. We continue the walk, and really we are just getting into the small town with the supermarket. It is a cute town with an old fashion vibe to it. There are people walking around the streets saying words in a language I am yet to understand.

"There the supermarket is," Cannon points out. It had just came into our line of vision. It was a lot newer than the rest of the town. Even the school we had passed looked in need of a new design. We walk into the parking lot of the supermarket.

"Teagan, Rylee, and I will go in and grab some supplies," Kacey states "Food and water. Do you guys want anything specific?" She then adds. "A twix bar," Cannon reported. "I am good, I don't need anything. Thanks anyways," Grayson assured. Cannon hands Kacey cash. "Good luck with the car guys," I say.

Kacey, Rylee, and I walk into the supermarket. Rylee walks up to Kacey. "We need to talk," Kacey looks at Rylee and then at me. "Okay" She responds. Rylee and Kacey walk into an aisle, I follow. "I have recs," Rylee whispers. Kacey looks at me "Did you know?" I shoot a look to Rylee. "Yes, I already knew," I respond "She told me earlier."

We stamper out into the other Aisles and grab food and water. Rylee pays, and we leave. Back out into the parking lot. I look around for the boys but see nothing. "Over here!" Grayson screeches. I look to my left and hiding behind old blue van is Grayson. On the other side of the van is Cannon trying to fend off three Tringers all on his own.

Rylee, Kacey, and I sprinted over to the van. "He has recs," wimpers Grayson. I ran to the other side of the van to fight alongside Cannon. He is trying to figure out his telekinesis. I help him. I lift up one of the Tringers with my telekinesis and smash it down onto the pavement. "Lift them up, smash them down!" I holler.

Rylee runs up beside me and does what I said to a Tringer trying to get at Cannon. "I need some help guys!" Cannon gulped "I am not used to this," I snap the Tringers neck. It's dead, just like the other two.

"Does anyone have a lighter?" I demand "Before someone sees what they are," Cannon takes a lighter out of his pocket and lights the three bodies on fire. They disappear quicker than they had come.

"Is the car ready?" Rylee asks Cannon. "Yes, get in quick," He orders. Kacey is already in the driver's seat by the time we get in the van. The engine was started previous to the battle due to the hijacking. Kacey drives us off into the crisp early morning air.

Grayson turns back from the passenger's seat. "Are you okay?" Grayson worried about us. "Yes" Rylee replied flatly. Cannon and I did not respond. Rylee leans on my shoulder, in return I lay my head on hers. I can tell exactly how she feels. She is scared.

I stared out the windshield from the middle seat in the back. France is beautiful. The way the road curves and the colors on the trees are all so beautiful. I fall asleep, I feel so safe with all my friends.

About an hour and a half later Rylee tries to wake me. "Teagan, it's time to wake up. We are here," I opened my eyes and closed them again. I am too exhausted to move, they can leave me here all night for all I care. They don't leave me. I am lifted out of the van. It's Kacey, I can tell by the maroon color on her hoodie.
