Grandad

LUKES POV

 We arrived at the hospital and walked through the door. Something was off, her dad was in the waiting room and same with her brother. Normally they are both with him. Ash walked up to her dad and started talking. I just sat down beside her brother and stayed quite trying to hear what they were saying to each other. The only thing I heard was her dad say it was just the nurse checking on him but they were asked to leave because they were doing a couple tests. Thank god. The nurse said we could go in but only two at a time. I told Ash to go with her brother but he told me to go. Once we reached the room we walked in and he was sleeping like always. I stayed back at the door and watched Ash pull out a couple picture frames and set them on the counter by his bed. “You’ll be with grandma again soon papa. We all know you miss her, we do too.” By now she was almost crying. She and her grandpa were always close. I stayed back as she finished talking to him. “You know papa, its okay to let go. You will forever be in our hearts. We know you have pain, if you let go you’ll be able to go up to heaven with grandma, and Cousin Kevin, and my mama. You can let go.” By now she’s crying, not balling but she’s crying. I walk up behind her and put my hand in her shoulder. It’s what I always do. She reaches into her pocket and pulls out two rings, her grandma’s wedding rings. She puts them in his hand and closes it.  She kisses his forehead said she loves him. By now vie backed up to give her space again. She turns around and walks up to me, I wrap my arms around her and give her a hug. She starts crying again, so I just stand there holding her in my arms.

ASHLYNS POV

I always like when Luke comes with me to go see my grandpa, I normally end up crying at some point so he gives me a hug and holds me till I quite. I don’t know why but he’s the person that can calm me down the most after something happens whether m upset, crying, or scared, he always gets me to calm down. I don’t know, it just feels so right and comforting in his arms. Ive actually had feelings fir Luke for a while now, but I just push them away because were just good friends, plus he obviously doesn’t feal the same way about me.He couldnt, we've been friends for since we can remember. 

i finally stop crying and luke and I went back into the waiting room. Luke had the day planned for us since we suaally hangout on saturdays. we were going to drive around in his mud truck and hopefully find a mud hole of two. I gave my dad and brother a hug goodbye and Luke shook their hands and we were off to get our extra cloths and change. We went to my place first, i got changed out of my good shirt and jeans and put on mmy Tim McGraw concert shirts and some old work jeans. I grabbed some other stuff cose to what i was wearing for after. I went back downstais to see Luke holding the last picture our familly's took took together. his brother, and sister, and my mama being in the picture.  I walk up behind him "I miss them, all three of them." and he answers with a quiet voice "Me too." i knew his sister passed aaway two years ago in a couple days so he will be a little more emotional then usual. He puts the picture back above the fireplace "Ready to go??" he asks. i just nod and walk to the door.
