Small Town Buddies (A Luke Bryan fan fiction)

Date night

ASHLYN's pov

It's been a week since Luke asked me out. Sure we've went on drives and stuff together just alone as a couple but tonight we going on an actual date. Luke won't tell me where we're going, and knowing him it could be something crazy. It's actually making me more nervous then I already am. The fact I can see Luke doing something outrageously nuts scares me. I look at the clock, 3:15pm. Luke's picking me up at 5:00 so I should start getting ready I guess. I walk downstairs to my room and grab my towel them go to the shower. I wash my hair and my body. Making sure I'm super clean and smell good. I shave as well. Just because I can. I take about 30 minutes in the shower. 3:50, couple hours left. I wrap myself up in my towel and walk right to my closet. Hmm what to wear. I mean I don't even know where we're going or what to wear so I sit on my bed and text Luke on how I should dress.
A- how am I supposed to know what to wear if I don't know where we're going?????
L- dress casual nice. Not to fancy but bring extra clothes.
A- oh Luke. Why can't you tell me what we're doin??? You know I dislike surprises.
L- haha it's okay beautiful. I promise you'll like it. Now go get ready. I gotta get ready too.

I smile as I toss my phone onto my bed and go back to my closet. Hmm. I look around for about 10 minutes and can't decide between two outfits. So I put on my new purple dress, it's got short sleeves and is wavyish and I slip on my good boots of course. I take a picture then change into my mermaid type Black dress. It's tight so it makes me look like I have a bigger ass. Haha I mean who wouldn't like that. I put on my brown boots and take a pic. I send them to Luke and say which one. He answers almost instantly and picks the black one. How did I know he was going to pick that one?? I look at the the clock and say shit 4:25 already. I go to the bathroom and pull out my curler and my make up. I should probably look nice for our first date. While my curler is heating up I put on eye liner and a little bit of eye shadow and some blush as well. My curler is finally ready so I curl my hair in loose curls. I go to put on some lipgloss but I hear the doorbell. I yell come in and I hear the door open. I say one second and put on some lipgloss then step out of my room.

LUKE's pov
I hear Ash yell for me to come in, she must not be ready yet. Am I early?? I check my watch. No, right on time. I walk in and she yells from the basement that she will be up in a sec. I look into the window and fix my hair and shirt making sure it's all tucked in. I've got on my tightest jeans and a black dress shirt tucked in with my dress boots. I hear her door open so I look down and see her step out of her room. Man is she gorgeous or what. And that dress looks amazing on her. It hugs her in the perfect spots perfectly. I put my hand out an she grabs it and I look at her still in awe and say " damn pretty girl. You look amazing" she blushes and says "you don't look to bad yourself cowboy" I kiss her softly and she kissed me back. Her kisses are sweet as could be. Ugh this girl is driving my crazy, how could I be so lucky to get a girl like her. I grab her hand and walk her out to my truck and I open the door for her and help her in....surprisingly, no complaints about that, I even got a smile. Damn that smile. I hop into the drivers seat and put my truck in drive and we head to the city. "Lukkeeee where are we going?????" She asks with the cutest voice ever. "We're almost there baby." I say as I put my hand on her thigh. She tenses up and I don't know if that's a bad sight or....

We pull up to the restaurant and I jump out and run to her side and help her out. She kisses my cheek as a thank you. We walk in and I say "reservations for Luke bryan" the waitress takes us to our table and orders our drinks. I got a miller light and Ash got a Pilsner. How she drinks that?? I have got no idea. We sit making small talk about things and how things are going. I don't bring up her grandpa cuz her dad told me he's getting worse and I don't want to upset my baby girl. We eat our meal and I pay and we get into the truck. She insist on getting in herself this time. She slides into the middle seat and rests her head on my shoulder as she grabs my hand and plays with my fingers as I drive with the other. I look down at her and ask "baby girl, are you alright??" She sits up and looks at me and shrugs "I don't wanna make this depressing. We can talk about it later. What else do you have planned??" She replies. I just let it go and say "just gonna go out to the field beautiful" she smiles and kisses my cheek.
