The Thoughts

LUKES POV

Last night was crazy, partying and hanging out. But of course Jake had to come mess it up. I thought I seen his truck but just brushed it off, probably shouldn’t have. I was talking with Amy and her boyfriend when I realized Ash was gone. I went outside to see if I could find her, and I did. I swear there was fire coming out of my nose and ears. Jake laid hands on a woman, and my friend. I ran behind him and beat him up, then Ashlyn being herself had to ‘clean’ me up. I had hardly any blood on me, well except my knuckles but who cares, because I sure don’t.

When she was helping me last night I realized she has the most beautiful caring eyes. Just so gentle and dark brown, and her eye lashes, so long and gorgeous. No Luke shut up, you do not have feelings for her, you can’t, she’s your best friend.

Today me and Ash are going to visit her grandpa in the hospital. He had a heart attack and they don’t know how much longer he is going to be on earth, they said a month if they are lucky. It’s sad, he was so awesome, I remember when Ash and I were little he would take us hunting with him. There was this one time we went with him and some of her family and there wasn’t enough room in the cab of the truck so we rode in the box, well let’s say we didn’t get too much hunting done, mostly just cruising around in the mud and down some back roads. Some of my best memories are with that man, and that girl. Really going to miss him.

I look at the clock and realize its already 2:00. Shit!  I run up the stairs and have a shower, washing my hair and body. Once I get out I put on my good dark blue jeans and a nice button up shirt. Her granddad was big on ‘looking presentable’ in front of people. I look at my clock again and realize that only took ten minutes, cool. I go back and fix my hair, brush my teeth, and put some of my good cologne on. I grab my keys and go pick her up. I knock on the door and she opens it seconds later. Wow she’s beautiful. No Luke shut up, not doing that again. “Earth to Luke!! Hello Luther!!” she says waving her hands in front of my face. I grab her hands “My name is NOT Luther.” She just grins. I let her hands go. “You ready to go??”  I ask not knowing what to say. “Yeah, let me go get my bag, I got something from grandpa’s house last night. I think it’ll make him feel better.” She answers and quickly runs up the stairs and comes back. “Let’s go” I say and open the door for her. She gets mad when I help her into my truck because she says it makes her feel incapable or really short so she gets in and I get in and we drive to the hospital.
