In the hallway, I found Mir and Kate, but no Ivelyn. The halls were empty except for the four of us. Addie had followed me in from the cafeteria. First, my mind went to locating Ivelyn and calming her down. Then, my mom seized, remembering that I still needed to talk to Mir. I needed to be smooth about pulling Mir from the group. No one but us knew about Scarlett's powers and we needed to keep it that way.
I couldn't risk the others trying to talk Mir out of binding Scarlett's powers. They wouldn't understand why we needed to bind her powers. Plus this was the exact opposite kind of information Ivelyn needed right now. It would give her a cause for her anger and knowing her she would probably sentence Scarlett to death -- or worse.
No, this was something Mir and I needed to handle alone. I understood the importance of keeping this a secret.
"Where's Ivelyn?" I asked Mir and Kate who look blankly at each other. Then, Mir frowns and points at Kate.
"She wouldn't use her telekinesis to keep her here and my powers barely made a dent in her rage." Mir's powers had expanded, so she didn't need to touch someone to calm them. Instead, she just had to focus on a person and she could ease their frustration, anger, insecurity, etc. She was a lifesaver when it comes to stress, but Ivelyn's anger wasn't to be trifled with.
"I tried." Kate shrugged, but you could tell she hadn't tried that hard. Kate's telekinesis was one of the strongest powers in our Coven. She had to use her hand to wave things away, but she was working towards just moving things with her mind. Either way, her powers were strong.
"Pssh," Mir waved her off.
"Do you have any idea where she went?" Addie asked them, standing next to me.
"Uh, probably to go kick Sage's ass," I answered, knowing it was true the second I said it. I'm sure Troy hadn't meant to make Sage the scapegoat, but he had. Ivelyn was probably on her way to confront Sage -- the woman who was planning on "stealing" Troy. In her eyes, this was all Sage's fault. It was a good thing she was a Lycan and could definitely hold her own.
"You think?" Addie asked as Mir and Kate nodded.
"Most definitely," Mir agreed, bobbing her blonde mane up and down.
"It does sound like something she would do." Kate rubbed her temples, then took her glasses off. She pinched the bridge of her nose, then put her glasses back on.
"It'll be fine, we'll give Sage a heads up and go about our day. There isn't anything anyone can do when Ivelyn is on a mission." I told the group. They all nodded, agreeing that was the best option. I took out my phone and sent a quick text to Sage:
"Hey, Troy spilled the beans about your guys plan for after graduation -- AKA leaving Salem and never returning... Anyways, we're pretty sure Ivelyn is on her way to your house/mechanic shop ready to kick some wolf ass. Sorry! --Corn."
I re-read it then hit send.
It covered pretty much everything.
"You don't think we should try and go after her?" Mir asked behind her hands.
"No," I told her quickly. "We don't even know where to start." There were a couple of places Sage could be, but even more options on where Ivelyn had gone. It was just a theory that Ivelyn was going to see Sage.
"I can't miss class today, anyways." Kate sounded callous, but she had a point. We were always leaving early or missing days of school. I was trying to be more studious and in doing so, meant not missing as many days. We had the rest of this term, then summer would be here. I should be excited about summer, but after hearing everyone else's plans I felt deflated by the idea of summer.
