Hazel finds her way onto Felix Pollocks large cargo ship. They would transport passengers and their riches back and forth to other ports as they find new places to settle. Hazel spent several months aboard Felix Pollocks ship. But this time she wasn't just a cabin boy, she was one of the crew. Hazel learned the ins and outs of the ships workings. She was proud of her recent accomplishments. As much as Hazel denied the truth to herself, the female Pirate did assist her in hiding her womanhood. She's almost thirteen now, most of the crew thinks she is about fifteen as Crispin. Captain Pollocks expresses to her that he is impressed as to how quickly she picked up the new responsibilities. They were far from the coast, practically in the middle of the ocean. A storm was brewing off in the distance. Hazel and the crew scramble to prepare for a rough ride. Objects must be secure and tied down securely. The man in the crows nest calls out, "Pirates!" some of the men rush to the side. The boat rocked back and forth roughly as the choppy waters thrashes the boat around. "Oh no! Its the Ghost Pirate!" What! Is the female pirate back again? Three ships with the odd ghost mark! The ships drew closer. "Ready the Cannons!" shouted the captain. "Prepare for battle!" Hazel looks through the spy glass, she sees the lead armor ship. "Captain! Captain!" "Not now Crispin!" "But sir there are three armored ships!" "Armored?" the captain dismissively sneered. "Captain? Have you not gone up against the Ghost Pirate before?" "No, Ive only heard stories of how they appear in a ball of light, and are difficult to see on the waters, and how when they attack at night they board and subdue without a single man raising the alarm." "Because their ships are armored and therefore difficult to see on the open waters. Our ship will be decimated into shreds before we inflict a lick of damage on them. We will lose." The captain skeptically looks at Hazel, "Then what do you suggest Crispin?" "Hand to hand combat is our only chance for the most survival." The Captain nods, "Men! Ready your stations, prepare to be boarded! Dont fire a single cannon!"
The Ghost Ships approach, since the captain did not fire upon with cannons, they did not fire either and simply lined up and boarded them. Swords clashed, men screamed in pain, guns were fired. Hazel did her best to hide and avoid battling any pirates. She hid behind some barrels in hopes of waiting out the attack. A crew man was sent flying into the barrels in which she hid behind. A pirate took notice of her, he grinned big, revealing his several missing teeth amongst the rotting rest. He picked her by her shirt, and quickly discovered she was a girl. His smile seemed to reach ear to ear as devious thoughts were made apparent in his eyes. He ripped her shirt, revealing her bound chest. The giant ogre easily over powered her, after all, he was three times larger than her. She screamed in terror as he attempted to rip the cloth that bounds her chest. A Gun shot goes off, blood sprays all over her. The ogre stops his activity and falls forward onto her. She screams out as she flailed in attempt to push him off of her. He lists off to the left, and off of her. The female pirate stood there, directly behind him. She grabs Hazel by the arms and pulls her in close to her. The pirate embraces Hazel. Wrapping her oversized coat around Hazel, and gently rocks. "Are you okay?" she asks. Hazel, was frozen. Caught up in this moment and time. The last hug she received was when her mother died. and no one hugged her like this except for when her mother was alive, before she got sick. Hazel could only nod. you are safe now she said. The pirate had whipped off her coat and wraps Hazel in it, and tied it so looked more like a dress on her. Hazel the pirate softly says, "We are sinking this whole ship. And killing everyone on board. I dont want you to be one of them, please come with me." Hazel looks down at the ogre pirate. That is the third person this woman has killed to protect her. And this time, it was one of her own men. "I dont know if I want to be a pirate." The female pirate bends down, Hazel looks into her bright brown eyes, they are so deep and sincere. "You dont have to be if you dont want to. But please come with me, dont be a casualty of this ship". The chaos continues around them. Hazel looks at the woman pirate, "I dont really know you." The female pirate looks down, and then looks back up at her. "Perhaps that might be true, but so far I have done much to protect you and proven to keep you safe." Skeptically Hazel examines the pirates face. Hazel nodded her head "yes," the pirate woman jumped excitably, "is that a yes?" "yes" Hazel nods her head quietly again. The pirate woman jumped again with enthusiasm. She wrapped her arms around Hazel, and lifted her in the air, and evacuating all air from her lungs with the hoist.
The pirates line up all the crew of the ship. The captain calls out to Hazel, "Be brave Crispin! Do not walk down the path of evil and remain righteous." Hazel looks back him. The female pirate whispered something to the pirate captain. "Come Hazel." Hazel clings tightly to the female pirate as she grabs a rope, tightens her grip, and lifts Hazel up as she swings onto the other ship. They drop a couple feet when they land on the deck. Hazel heard the crews blood curdling screams. Hazel started to cry and look at the female pirate. She hugs her, covering Hazels ears. The female pirate rocks her back and forth. Hazel likes this rocking, its soothing. The rest of the crew boards the ship. Hazel sees a faint orange glow behind them.
