I woke up with a yawn. My bag sat next to my bed. I remembered my parents being too busy to notice I had left on a pokemon journey. That whole year I spent on the road, battling people good and bad, stopping world destruction, and bonding with my pokemon. It was strange to me that they would only notice I was gone when someone in town finally asked where I had been. I was called home immediately. I lived in Jubilife city. My rival and best friend Barry, lived in a cute town called Twinleaf. We both meet up at Lake Verity whenever we can. Maybe we should try to meet up again today. It's been a few weeks. I finished getting ready for the day, and walked downstairs. Swinging my bag onto my back, I started walking to the door when I was stopped.
"Just where do you think you're going this time young lady?" My mother said. "You're supposed to have a contest today."
"I was just.. going out to practice."
"You always say that and then you end up hanging out with that runt of a boyfriend." My father said from the couch. "Eat breakfast and get into a dress already."
"He's my rival, not my boyfriend." I groaned.
"There she goes with the rival thing again. When will you get in nailed into your thick skull R/n, you're a fancy contest girl, not a trainer." (R/n=Real name)
I was speechless from anger and frustration.
"Now eat and get ready with your mother or you're going without breakfast again."
"I don't think she needs any food anyway. She's getting a bit chubby again, don't you think?" Mother stated.
"Maybe." He didn't remove his eyes from the tv. "You know you're always right about those things honey, I'm not the contest star. You are."
"Oh, thanks darling. You always know what to say."
"Ew..." I mumbled.
"Alright, go get into some better clothes R/n."
"Fine.." I was about to go upstairs when the doorbell rang. I hid near the top of the stairs to eavesdrop.
"Mail for Mr and Mrs Rl/n! It's very important!"
The door shut. Mother sat next to father on the couch.
"What could this be? There's one for each of us."
"Well, let's just see." Father ripped open the mail. Mother did the same.
"Oh my! I just got a once in a lifetime offer for modeling and doing a contest in Kalos!!"
"I just got a business offer to do some repairs on a whole bunch of buildings in Kalos! What great luck!!"
"We need to go now! Get us all tickets stat!"
"Earliest time we can leave is in four hours."
"Great! I'll tell R/n! I know she'll be sad that she's gonna miss her contest for today though."
"Yeah. At least we can make more money with this rather then off of her!"
I quickly ran into my room and threw on the dress. I sat in my chair at my desk and started re-brushing my hair.
"R/n! We're leaving in four hours to go to Kalos. I'm so sorry you have to miss your contest. Get into some nice clothes and pack your stuff."
"Oh really? Aw man." I snuck mothers favorite lipstick to use on me into my sweater pocket which sat on the chair. "Oh! Mother, I think I left the lipstick you like back in Twinleaf town! Barry's mom wanted to see how you made trash like me look so amazing on stage, so I showed it to her and must've dropped it!"
She gasped. "Grab it quickly! And don't bring it anywhere ever again!"
"Yes ma'am!" She left the room, I got into one of my nicer looking casual outfits so they didn't yell at me and was then out the door to find Barry. I made it to Twinleaf town faster then usual, knocking on Barry's door.
"Hello Y/n! I'll get Barry, he's in his ro-"
Barry came flying down the stairs to the door.
"Y/n!!!" He yelled happily.
"Heya Barry! I don't have long. Only an hour."
"Why is that? Usually you can sneak away for at least five or more!"
"Barry.. we're leaving."
"Leaving!? Why!? To go where!?"
"To the Kalos region."
"You'll be coming back.. right?"
"I hope so. I mean, we came back from Unova last year."
"Oh yeah! You made a new friend there right? What was their names.."
"Cilan and Iris."
"That's right! Say, maybe you'll meet them again!"
"I dunno. Cilan and Iris are gym leaders in Unova remember? Heck, Cilan runs a whole restaurant with his brothers. I wonder how they've been."
"Well come on! Let's stop talking at my door and head to the lake!"
"I agree."
We went to the lake, caught up with each other, and then just before I left, battled one more time.
"Aw man!! I lost again!! I declare a rematch when you get back!"
"Sure thing Barry." I giggled. I checked my watch. "Times up. See ya Barry!" I said while running back home.
"Byeee!!!"
I got home, finished packing, and then we left. We got onto a plane and left Sinnoh behind once more. I wonder what waits for me in Kalos.
