As Bonnie and Y/n talked, I just stared in awe. She never turned down Bonnie's offer, which weirded me out the most. Plus she said we 'interested her'? Something seems.. off about this girl. She's so strange and has caught me off guard so many times already. It only makes me wonder more.
"Clemont? Hello? Earth to Clemont? What, did you space out into nerd town?"
"Ah, s-sorry Bonnie."
"Its okay. Y/n just wanted us to show her around since we live here and all!"
I saw Y/n wince a bit at the word 'her'.
"S-sure. I don't see why no-"
"R/n Rl/n!!!" We heard a shout and Y/n winced, turning her head to the sound.
"Ack! M-mother, father, fancy meeting you here heheh." Her parents? Why did they call her a different name?
"You know not to sneak off on us R/n! Now we're gonna be late!"
"Wait! You're the famous contest star M/n Rl/n right!?" Bonnie said with glee. "You're so pretty!"
"Awe, why yes, I'm her all right! My, my, I have fans everywhere. See how much love you'd get as a star like me R/n?"
"Maybe I don't like that type of love.." Y/n- er, R/n mumbled.
"What was that R/n? You outta speak up sometimes." Her father stated.
"I-I said..." she paused for s split second. "Th-that would be great heheh."
"Too bad you ruin every outfit I've gotten you. Not that any of them really look good on you anyway until I've fixed up your look." Sheesh. These two don't seem like very nice parents. R/n- no. Y/n looked at the ground, a look on her face that I couldn't quite describe.
"Come along R/n dear, say bye to your run away buddies."
"Th-they aren't my run away buddies! They're people. Good people. Unlike you! Ah! I-i mean..." Y/n's eyes widened as she slowly started backing up. Her mother turned around with a terrifying look.
"F/n.. R/n needs that little chat again, don't you think?"
"I have to agree with you darling." Y/n's father slowly approached her and I finally saw what was going on.
"N-no, no. I d-didn't mean it. P-please, don't lock me in a room again... I hate being alone.." Y/n said sadly, yet still trying to make light of the situation. She looked so scared. I was scared as well but my legs moved without me. I grabbed Y/n's and Bonnie's hands and ran. I was running faster then I'd usually be able to run due to adrenaline. I didn't look back. I couldn't. I heard nothing, I only saw the blur of the city going past me, all I thought about was getting those two out of that dangerous situation. We finally stopped just at the edge of the city. All of us gasping for air.
"I-i think... w.. we lost them.." I said between breaths.
"But big brother.. Serena and Ash are gonna be in the city tonight remember? They.. they're coming back for our planned meet up.." Bonnie talked fast between her breaths, but I still realized what she had said.
"Wh-who's... Serena and Ash..." Y/n asked.
"Friends of ours." I said, finally catching my breath. When all three of us were good again, Bonnie explained.
"We met them a year ago and went on an amazing adventure!"
"And now they're coming back to Kalos for a while so we can all catch up and have some fun."
"That sounds grea- wait! Ash you say? That name sounds so familiar.. I feel like I've met him before."
"Really?" Bonnie asks.
"Yeah. I believe so. Back in Sinnoh, while me and Barry were hanging out at lake Verity. I'm sure he doesn't remember me. I only saw him for one day while Barry ran into him a few times. I had to go to Unova during that time. It was just a few months but, apparently Ash left the region before I could find him again and thank him."
"Thank him? Why?"
"He was the whole reason I caught a Shinx! I made sure to take good care of her after that day. Funny how things work sometimes."
"Yeah."
"What about Serena? What's she like?"
"Well, she-" Bonnie cut me off.
"Shes really pretty and nice and became Ash's girlfriend!"
"Pfft. So he finally wasn't horribly dense ay?"
"Yeah. Took too long though." Bonnie groaned. Y/n chuckled a bit.
"When exactly are they gonna be here again?"
"Well, let me check the time." I said before panicking. "They arrived at ten and have been here for an hour already!!"
"Really? It's already eleven? Man, days go by fast sometimes." Y/n said.
"Well come on! Let's go find them!"
"What if we run into Y/n's parents again?"
"Don't worry about it." Y/n said. "I have to go back at some point anyway."
"No you don't." She looked at me confused. "You're seventeen like me right?"
"Yeah."
"Then they have no right to keep you anymore! That stops after the age of ten, and seventeen is far past that! Theres always a way out Y/n. Please, come with Bonnie and I. Come meet our friends. Come live your life as it's truly supposed to be."
"How else is it supposed to be?" I was shocked at this question. I could tell Bonnie was too.
"Fun of course!" Bonnie said with a smile. Y/n smiled too. It wasn't like her more plastered smile from earlier but instead, a genuine one.
"Fun.." she repeated. "That sounds nice. Let's go find these friends of yours shall we?" She held a hand out to me and her other to Bonnie. We all linked arms and went deeper into the city.
