And don't go to bed yet, love,

I think it's too early,

And we just need a little time to ourselves.

It was late, or early, depending on the time. Yet, Roman still couldn't sleep, he looked out his window, seeing the house of one of his closest friends, De Bean, he heard a groan from the bed above him, then he saw a light turn on in De's house.

If my wall clock tells me that it's four

In the morning,

I'll give it hell.

Roman's eyes darted towards the blinding red alarm clock, four in the morning, of course, De's awake, his brother would've just gotten home from work, he saw the window, open and De waved, Roman quietly hopped out of his bed, going over to the window and waving back before grabbing the walki talkie out of his desk, a smile on his face as he spent the night talking to De. They were only kids, were only 14, then they grew up, almost lost their best friend, Patton Morale, to suicide.

'Cause I've been trying way too long,

To try and be the perfect song,

When our hearts are heavy burdens,

We shouldn't have to bear alone.

De was the one who confessed, pulling Roman into a kiss behind the apple tree in his backyard. Roman was surprised, hugging De tightly, they promised they would never leave each other, they would go to the same college and have a life together.

So goodnight moon,

And goodnight you,

When you're all that I think about.

All that I dream about

.How'd I ever breathe without

That didn't happen, Roman went to King's College, his dream college, all the way in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. While De...went to the same community college as his brother. They were separated, and all the promises they made were broken.

A goodnight kiss

From goodnight you,

The kind of hope they all talk about.

The kind of feeling we sing about.

Sit in our bedroom and read aloud,

Like a passage from goodnight moon

But they both graduated years ago, they weren't kids meeting in the culdesac anymore, they were grownups. But here they were, running into each other while Roman was acting a documentary about his own life, and those childish feelings were revamped.

"De? Is that you?" Roman was astonished.

"Forget me already, Playboy?"
