Warning, talks of depression, mentions of suicide attempt

Roman sighed, stretching as he got off the plane. He regretted moving to California, and he regretted agreeing to go back to his small hometown to film a documentary all about how Roman Prince Charm came to be.

Despite being one of the most famous and popular actors of the Century, he was very quite about his life. Many fans speculated his sexuality saying he acts like a gay man (since that's apparently a thing) but his kiss scenes with females are too 'real' for him to be gay. So Roman was still closeted. You had to be a super fan to know about Romans twin, and well, maybe Roman was just bored of being secretive, or maybe he had one too many shots of Jack Daniels, but for whatever reason, he agreed to the documentary. He shook his head as he stepped into the car, fixing his hair and sighing.

He gave the driver directions to his childhood home, his parents still lived there, but he hasn't seen his parents in years and well....he didn't want too. So he asked one of the few friends he stayed in touch with, Remy, if he could come over and film and stuff, Remy agreed without much complaint.

He looked out the window, all the familiar sights filling his brain, images whizzing through faster then Roman could handle. His eye caught the old rusty swing set, and a painful memory hit him.

Small Roman, only fifteen, hiding underneath sweaters and bangs, "Why are you depressed? Your life is perfect! Your family loves and accepts you! Everybody loves you! You have no reason to be depressed!!" Roman screamed, he regretted it, Patton told Roman first, telling him that they are unbearably sad, that every day they feel a little heavier.

"I know...I know, that makes it so much worse! I have everything I could ever want, and I don't want it..." Patton sighed, wiping their tears away quickly, forcing a smile on. "Sorry for bothering you, Ro-Ro." And they left. Roman was just a kid, he didn't realize how rude what he said was, he didn't realize what was gonna happen.

Patton tried to kill themselves that night, deep scars covered their arms and legs. Virgil was the one who found them, though Patton never said it Roman knew he was the one who pushed them over the edge, he should've kept his mouth shut-

The driver honked the horn, slamming on the brake suddenly, Roman was ripped out of his thoughts.

No, you can think about that later. For now, go drink one of Remy's delicious lattes and talk to your closest friend.

Roman nodded to himself, thanking the driver once the car pulled in front of the house, he got out, running up to the small house, right across from his childhood home. He knocked on the door, soon enough it was open. "Ro...? It's been too long, gurl!" Remy hugged Roman tightly, before dragging him in. Filming wasn't supposed to start till tomorrow, giving Roman a chance to get settled.

"I know, I know, I've missed you." Roman smiles brightly, looking around. Nothing much has changed since they were kids, the walls had a new coat of paint, a warm brown instead of grey, and new leather furniture, he also noticed pictures on the walls, some of Virgil and Remys wedding, the one Roman was invited to but didn't show up.

Because you were too afraid of seeing De again.

Roman frowned at his thoughts but smiled as he saw the picture of Virgil and Remy holding a little girl. "You said you and Virgil adopted right?"' Remy nodded with a proud grin, turning around to hand Roman a mug of a perfectly made latte, Remy was good at making coffee that's for sure.

"Yup, Athena is a sweetheart, she just turned four, she's a bit shy though, she's in the living room coloring right now." Remy picked up his own mug, leading Roman into the living room. A little girl was sitting on the lavender fuzzy rug, tongue poked out in concentration as she colored a picture of Mickey Mouse. She had long blonde hair, tied up in a bun, and green eyes, true to her name, she looked like a goddess with her freckle covered skin and intelligent eyes. She waved at Roman before gasping.

"You're the prince!! I-In Snow White, you're the prince!! You're here!" She hopped up, pulling at Romans sleeve excitedly as she rambled to Remy, mostly angry that her dad didn't tell her that he was friends with a prince.

Soon enough she calmed down, running off. "Wanna go outside and catch up? I gotta lot to talk about." Remy said, leading Roman towards the sliding glass doors. Roman nodded.

"Your daughters a delight."

"Every kid in this town is gonna think you're a prince so don't get wasted or anything, you'll ruin their childhood." Roman rolled his eyes, following Remy as the two walked out the back door, telling him everything from Virgil's book going nationwide, to Logan coming out as non-binary, to Pattons bakery opening up. Roman was proud of his friends, he really was, but one thing ate at his mind. De. He missed the other, though they've been broken up for a long time. He wanted to talk to De, to apologize and maybe get a second chance.

"God remember this old tree." Remy laughed, hitting the trunk of a tall tree, which now had a treehouse in its branches, "It's where I confessed to Virgil." He traced over the small initials carved into the tree, V.S+ R.B. Romans breath caught in his throat before he nodded, chuckling.

"Pretty sure everyone confessed at this tree," he slowly walked to the Other side, tracing the letters that he and De carved into the tree.

"Just come on, Ro!" De dragged Roman behind the tree, giggles filling the air. "I wanna tell you something."

"Please do tell." Roman crosses his arms, rubbing off the rainbow that Remus scribbled onto his wrist on the bus.

"I'm in love with you, I have been for...forever, but I gotta tell you, I had to." De's smile lightened as he slowly frowned for every second Roman was silent,

"I love you too, but...I always thought you were out of my league." Roman admitted, De laughed, a joyful sound, before clinging to Romans white t-shirt and smashing their lips together.

Once they were done kissing and giggling, De pulled out a pocket knife, carving their initials into the tree, D.B + R.P.C

Roman realized that Remy had gone silent, staring at the intials Roman had his hand on. "You're not over him yet, are ya?"

"God no, I could never be over him." Roman said quietly.

"I'm sorry, Ro..." but Remy didn't say anything else, didn't tell him where he was, didn't say that their was a chance, he just walked inside to make dinner. Roman blinked away the tears, trying to blame them on allergies or the cold wind biting at his skin, but in all honesty...

He missed De.
