Jake's POV:
I threw my phone onto the grass in anger and frustration. Can't anyone put me first? Can anyone actually care for me like I care for them? I know I just met him but maybe we could've been something more... We could still become something more.
I'm such a freak. No one will ever love me again I ruin everything and everyone in my path. Suddenly I hear something that I was waiting for. Jumping down from the branch I was sitting on I scooped up my phone and listen carefully. Hearing the soft pitter patter of soft feet I silently glide toward the noise. Reaching a clearing I look at the deer chewing the grass.
I get into my hunting crouch. In the matter of seconds I leaped into the clearing landing straight on the deer. It tried to run away but it lost its balance and fell to the ground. Pinning it down I mutter:
"So sorry."
After that I sunk my teeth into its neck and drank its blood. Not enough to kill it just to make it weak. Yeah. That's right. I'm a vampire. I'm alone and always will be unless I can find a companion, someone to love me. Someone to spend eternity with, and I know who that person is. I'm coming for you Mitch.
Mitch's POV:
I just lay in bed worrying, worrying about my whole freaking life. Jerome's in the hospital, Adam and Ty are together, geez. I don't have to worry about them being together it's just if they're together they might move out and I can't stand more people just leaving me out in the dust. They might just forget about me. I hear a knock on the door following with the doorbell ringing. Who the heck is visiting at this hour?! Its 12 at night!
I walk to the door and pop it open. There stood my buddy who I had just ditched over the phone. This isn't going to be pretty. I brace myself waiting for him to start interrogating me and getting pissed at me.
"Mitch?"
His voice is kind and soft and he seems to glow faintly in the moonlight. He looks just so beautiful and something else... Scary? No. Creepy? No. Mysterious? Yeah that works. I couldn't peel my eyes away from him.
"H-Hi Jake right?"
"Yup. So since you can't hang out tomorrow..."
"I have to visit my friend in the hospital."
"Oh, I'm sorry for him, hope he gets better..."
Honestly he looked really sad, like the news had made him worried. This kind of touched me because he didn't even know Jerome and he still felt bad. I was interrupted by him talking.
"I hope he gets better, anyways so you want to hang out right now?"
"What?! It's like midnight!"
"That's the point. No one will be around to bother us."
"I'm not so sure... I mean police will arrest us for being over curfew."
"You kidding? I've been out there like a million times at this hour."
"Alright let me get dressed, be back in a minute."
Letting him sit on the couch I run upstairs to my room to get dressed. In truth after I got dressed I grabbed a small weapon just in case. The only thing I had was my blades... Grabbing one and stuffing it into my pant pocket I head back downstairs. I see Jake just staring out the window moonlight shining on his face. He looked so beautiful at that moment and I wish I had a camera to snap a picture. He turns to look at me and smiles.
"Ready?"
"Ready. Let's go."
We're not driving, just walking. I think we are heading to the park that I visited a couple times before to head to the cliff area. Truthfully I don't know where we're even going he just started walking. It's been complete silence since we left the house and truthfully I'm starting to feel kind of awkward. Finally he broke the silence by asking:
"So what's your friend in the hospital for?"
"Oh, a car crash I think... He was out looking for me."
I started to feel guilty and I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes. Wiping them I see Jake looking at me concerned but he doesn't say anything, probably doesn't want to embarrass me. He just acts like it didn't happen.
"You must feel really bad don't you?"
"Y-Yeah I actually feel like its my fault."
When I said that he turns around to look at me. Gripping my shoulders tightly he says something that makes me smile.
"Mitch, always remember that it is never your fault if accidents happen. At any rate, it's not your fault that you met me!"
"Well it was all your fault then."
I laughed and he laughed too. By now we are walking through the familiar woods and reaching the cliff area. He sits at the edge and swings his legs over the cliff. He motions for me to come and sit and I sit next to him. We just spend hours and hours just talking about our problems and recalling funny events that break us out in laughter. After a while I think I fall asleep because next thing I know I'm back at home in my bed. Was it all just a dream? No, look there's a note on the bedside table...
"Hey Mitch, you kind of fell asleep so I brought you home. No, I didn't break in, I just came over and your buddy opened the door and brought you in. His name was Adam, he's a really cool guy, we should all hang out sometime. Good luck with your friend Jerome. I hope he feels better. -Jake"
I smile. I guess I actually did fall asleep... Considering how small he is compared to me, I bet he had a hard time dragging me home. Got to thank him sometime for that. Getting dressed I slip on my shoes and walk to the hospital. Jerome... Wait. How did Jake know Jerome's name? I don't remember telling him...
Adams POV:
I'm laying on the bed next to Ty, wide awake but not wanting to move in case I woke him up. I think about what happened just a couple hours ago...
~flashback~
'Ding dong'
I grumble and get off the bed careful not to disturb Ty. Walking to the door groggily I fling it open and growl:
"What do you want?"
Some guy was standing at the door with Mitch in his arms. I snap awake immediately. Taking him from the guy I grinned at him and said:
"Thanks bro."
"For what?"
The kid had a soft voice and he looked guarded like he was ready to defend himself or something.
"For bringing him home, we might have never found him if you didn't."
"Welcome. Name's Jake."
"Adam."
"You a buddy of Mitch's?"
"Yep. Guessing the same for you?"
"Nah, more like acquaintances."
"Okay, I'll put him to bed, thanks again."
"Alright, we should hang out sometime."
"Okay, later."
"Bye."
I shut the door with my foot and put Mitch upstairs into his bed. That kid looked kind of strange. Mitch had better be careful around him...
~flashback end~
That kid Jake, he looked like he was up to no good. Why would Mitch be out there with him so late at night? What if that kid had something to do with Jerome's crash? Adam, stop being paranoid, he's really a good kid. He was all cool and everything, maybe I'm just jealous that he's making other friends. Whatever, still I gotta know some more about this guy. Hanging out might not be such a a bad idea.
