The air reeked of dead bodies and blood. The metallic smell of the red substance almost made Clarke want to throw up.

Three days. She had been chained to the cave wall for nearly three days and in all honesty, she was tired. Physically, mentally, but most of all emotionally.

It was getting tiring having to hold all these emotions in and the Ice Nation warrior that had kidnapped her was just adding to the pile.

All Clarke wanted to do now was be back at camp. Arkadia. With her mom, her friends... Bellamy.

Bellamy. Even thinking his name hurt. She had left him with all the guilt and she hadn't even realised it, not until a month after she had left. It had been three months now.

She had replayed the memory of her standing outside the gate with Bellamy. He was trying to convince her to come back inside. He begged and tears were brimming his eyes. He had told her that she wasn't alone, they would get through it together.

She didn't believe it at the time. She wanted to, but she knew Bellamy could do it on his own.

But only now... looking back at the memory. He hadn't been begging her to come inside for her sake only, he had been trying to find someone to keep him sane - someone to get though it with.

He felt the same pain, the same guilt as she did. They both pulled that lever. Only, she wished he hadn't. He didn't need to, he could've just left her to do it by herself and he wouldn't have been seeking her out of comfort.

But now it's too late. Now there's nothing she can do. Shes tied to a goddamned post for god sakes! She was probably going to die there anyway.

The Ice Nation guard was a few metres away from her, asleep while leaning against the stone wall behind him. He had a sword placed beside him but it wouldn't be useful to him while he was asleep.

In the past few days being tied up by him, she had noticed many things. One of them being, the guard is a heavy sleeper. The first night, she had struggled against the restraints and even tried getting his sword. She had managed to kick it with her foot and it made a loud clanging sound when it hit the wall beside it. She winced and waited for the hits that were likely to come her way.

But they never came... That's how she figured out he didn't wake easily.

One question always remained on Clarke's mind though. Why was she still in the cave? They hadn't moved in days. She had been kept tied to the post only being released to eat, but other than that, the warrior hadn't brought her anywhere else.

Maybe he was waiting for something? That's what she thought, that's what seems the most logical.

She sat silently and desperately looked around for something that she could use to free herself. This had been a constant thing for the past three days. Try to find something that could maybe be a bit of help and fail miserably.

She had tried cutting the rope on the sharp stone behind her, but whatever the rope was made out of was clearly strong enough to not be broken by rocks.

She had thought of numerous plans, but she didn't have any of the things she needed. It was hopeless. The Ice Nation soldier knew exactly what he was doing and there was no way she was getting out of here alive.

——-

Clarke had just about dozed off when she heard a rustle outside the cave. It was dark and everything was pitch black. She quintet her eyes in hopes of seeing something, but nothing. It was too dark.

The crunching of leaves were coming closer and closer. She prepared herself to be found and be freed or tortured, when all of a sudden the footsteps came to a halt.

She could see something now... a light, at the opening of the cave. It was dim, but definitely there.

She heard the footstep again, this time coming closer. A shadow slowly formed on the cave wall as the light illuminated the inside and Clarke could see the silhouette of a man.

She recognised it straight away and her insides flipped with joy. Maybe she would get out of here.

She looked over at the sleeping man across from her and noticed he was gone. She could've sworn he was there a minute ago.

Panic filled her and she looked over to where the shadow had been seconds ago.

It was closer now and he had finally seen her.

"Clarke!" Bellamy ran over to her and knelt in front of her. He took the gag out only to be knocked back by a sudden unexpected force.

He groaned at the sudden impact that hit him and opened his eyes. Everything was blurry and he could hear Clarke yelling his name and pleading with whoever had knocked him. His sight slowly came back and he saw a sword above him.

He managed to dodge it only to have his leg slashed. He screamed in pain and looked over to Clarke who was sobbing.

Bellamy gave her a weak smile before looking back at the man above him. He struggled to try to get up and threw a punch at the guy. He only hesitated for a second before turning to Bellamy and hitting him with twice as much force.

Bellamy fell to the gerund again, unable to get up. The warrior above him drew his sword again, but this time Bellamy was too weak to do anything.

"No! Please, don't hurt him." The Ice Nation Soldier looked over at Clarke when she spoke. "You can do whatever you want with me... but please don't hurt him."

Bellamy looked at Clarke painting for air. His eyes widened when he processed what she had said and he began struggling up get up while the man above him was distracted.

"No!" Bellamy tackled him and desperately began to throw punches. He wasn't letting her die.

He was unconscious now, laying limp beneath Bellamy. He was probably dead but Bellamy still didn't stop.

"Bellamy..." He kept going.

"Bellamy." Clarke tried again.

This time he stopped, looking over at Clarke. He whimpered at the sight of her. Months now, he had been out looking for her and he finally found her. To say he was relieved was an understatement.

He got off the guy and crawled to where Clarke's hands were bound behind her. He undid them before pulling Clarke into a desperate hug.

She wrapped her arms around him without a moment of hesitation and began sobbing.

"Your okay... you're alright... I'm here." Bellamy whispered into her ear.

She smiled at the sound of his voice, still as caring as it used to be.

"I'm so sorry..." She sobbed.

How could he forgive her this easily when she had left him to carry his own burden at camp. She had left without thinking about the consequences it might have on him and still, here he is hugging her, ignoring everything else that happened.

"It's okay, I forgive you... you needed to escape, time to think." He pulled back and looked into her eyes, brushing her hair away with his fingers.

He smiled at her gently before resting his hand on her cheek. "I missed you."

Clarke smiled back, moving forward so their foreheads touched. "I missed you too."

"Are you ready to come back?" His expression turned serious and he pulled back slightly.

Clarke smiled even wider and nodded her head. She was ready to come back, after all this time. She was ready to face all her sins, she would have to do it sooner or later.

"Good." Bellamy smiled again and it was as if he hadn't had a moment of hesitation.

He leaned forward and pressed his lips to hers. Clarke was shocked but didn't waste a moment before kissing him back with as much force and passion.

His hands rested behind her neck as her hands wrapped around his waist, pulling him closer.

"I love you."

Clarke smiled and brought their lips back together. She broke away for a slip second to say the words he had been wanting to hear since she left.

"I love you, too."
