"Lena! I need some help over here!" I shouted to my sister. Our base had been broken into by a group of men, how they got in we will never know but I am currently staring down the barrel of the largest flamethrower I've ever seen. She zipped past the maniac in front of me and pulled me out of the situation I was in.
I ran down the hallway, disparate to get to my room to collect my weapons. I'm primarily a healer, taken in by Mercy as an apprentice. But I do have some half decent offensive capabilities. However, when I arrived the door was open and there was a man stood, looking over my belongings. Just great. He was very well built but had not seen me. I could see he had my bow in his hands, my quiver beside him, looking at it. Half of the arrows heal and the others can deal damage, the Style came from also spending a lot of time with Ana. I checked under Lena's pillow and found a spare pistol, that'll do nicely. "Put it down." I demanded, raising the pistol. He lowered my weapon and turned around, holding his hands up. When he faced me he pulled out a huge saw. "If you think you can swing faster than I can shoot you're severely mistaken." I spoke sternly. "What do you people want?"
"Information Fräulein." He smirked, "that weapon of yours, it is basic, primitive, if you came with me I could improve it tenfold." He held a hand out to me.
"Not on your life." I stepped forwards placing the pistol to his chest and taking the saw from his hand. "You're hardly one to be making demands Kraut." I nodded towards the door. "Go on. Nice and slow." He obliged, something told me this was what he wanted. I found Commander Morrison in the infirmary. "Commander, I captured one."
"Good work Oxton." He smiled. "Now. Your team are dead, whatever mission you think you were on has failed. You may as well give up now." The man just grinned, quickly pulling a syringe from his pocket, grabbing ahold of me and just puncturing the skin of my neck with the needle.
"Oh nein. I'm not saying anything. Me and the kleine Schatz will take our leave now." Morrison started towards me, I held out my hands with tears running down my face.
"Don't move Commander. I get the distinct feeling he will kill me." I stepped back in time with my captor, exiting the room. "Tell Lena I'm sorry." I called back.
Once out of the base he removed the syringe and pushed me into a van.
The drive lasted hours, all I could hope was that I would be rescued. When the doors opened I didn't resist. Why would I? I'd only get injured if I did and for now my interest was self preservation.
"Oh great the doc brought back a new guinea pig." A young lad teased.
"Nein. She's here to tell us all about this Overwatch." He shoved me into a room with two other men who tied me to a chair. The one wearing a suit and balaclava sat in front of me.
"I'll give you one chance." He spoke with a French accent. "Tell us about Overwatch." I just looked away. "Alright. The hard way it is." He smirked. "Scout! Get in here!" The young lad walked back in, holding a baseball bat. "Last chance mademoiselle."
"Go to hell." I bit back.
"Your choice." He spoke before walking out.

Time skip.

"3 ish broken ribs, heavy bruising, soft tissue damage to lungs." I breathed, self diagnosing my problems kept me from passing out, kept my brain active while sitting in the pitch black. "Fractured scull, few broken teeth, broken nose... broken wrist..." I started phasing in and out of consciousness until light flooded the room from the doorway. The man who took me walked in and started patching up and healing my wounds. He dabbed a cool, damp cloth across my forehead and offered me food and water. "I-I know what you're trying to do." I spoke spitting blood at his feet. "You're supposedly the kind one, the one who cares, the one they think I'll open up to. It's an age old torture technique. Literally good cop bad cop. It isn't going to work." I looked away. "Get our or kill me. Take your pick. You'll get nothing from me."

Days, weeks passed like this. I couldn't help it. I gave in. I told them what I knew. Was it worth my life? The betrayal of my friends and family? No. That's why I'm here, the roof. They let me go once they got what they wanted, their doctor patched me up, gave me food and a bed to sleep in. I cannot stay, nor can I go back. I sat on the ledge with my feet hanging over the edge. "Mein Schatz." The Doctor spoke, walking out onto the roof behind me.
"I'm a traitor. I can't go back. I can't stay here either, everyone wants me dead." I mumbled.
"What they did to you was wrong. I couldn't stand the sounds of your screams." He stood me up, holding onto my shoulders. "You will be safe here." I pushed him away.
"Stop it! Stop trying to draw me in! You got what you wanted! Now stop pretending you care!" I cried.
"Fräulein. I do care." He took a step towards me and I backed up to maintain the distance. "I could've killed you that day but I didn't."
"And I'm meant to be thankful for that?" I laughed.
"No." He hung his head, "but-"
"I don't even know what happened to my sister. I'm a traitor, she probably hates me." I looked out over the desert seeing what looked like a van, not the one that comes from this base but one from Overwatch.
After a lengthly battle, I was on my way back to our base, crying in my sister's arms. "I'm sorry. I couldn't help it. I told them what they wanted. Where all our bases are. Where the prototype slipstream is kept, some of Angela's designs. I'm sorry."
"It's ok love, god only knows what they put you through." She replied, her voice calm and soothing.
When back at the base I stayed in my room for days, refusing to leave. I had too much going on in my head to face seeing anyone.
I stood at my window, looking out over the land when a small white dove sat on my windowsill. I stood still not wanting to frighten the bird. "Hey there. What are you doing eh?" The bird cocked it's head to one side and hopped closer to me, turning it's back to me to reveal a small note attached to its back. "Oh." I pulled it off, reading it.
'Miss Oxton,
I hope you are well now you have been returned home to your family. I will be in town on Tuesday gathering supplies for my team and wouldn't mind some company.
Alles gut,
Medic.'
He wants to see me... this has to be a trap. It's gotta be. I kept the window open and placed some bread in my hand for the dove. It was only Saturday. I have time to think about this.
That night I couldn't stop thinking about him, how kind he was to me. The way he held himself with... I guess I could call it poise. I picked up a pen and a small piece of paper.
'Medic,
Everything is telling me not to trust you. I will come but try anything and I will kill you.
See you Tuesday.
Oxton.'
I rolled up the paper and tied it to the dove's back. "I suppose you know where you're going." I laughed. I had just shut my window when Lena walked in.
"Who you taking to?" She smiled.
"Just myself. I think it's time I came back to active duty." I grinned.
I spent my weekend training and when Tuesday rolled around I pulled on my standard Overwatch uniform, grabbed my quiver and bow and walked into town. Many people walked up and spoke to me, some simply tipped their hat or smiled. Overwatch has become a respected organisation once again. I sat on a bench in a park, watching people going about their daily business. "I doubted you'd come Fräulein." I heard a voice speak behind me. I jumped up placing a hand on an arrow in my quiver. "Easy. Im unarmed." He smiled holding his hands up. It was strange to see him like this, standard jeans and a black t-shirt. I reached out, patting his pockets, inside one was a syringe. "Well. Can't be too careful." He shrugged, taking it back and placed it back into his pocket. "Care for a walk?" He smiled holding his arm out to me. I simply stood next to him.
"I did some research on you. You're a very hard man to track down. No medical license I see. Diagnosed psychosis. Wanted criminal. Not exactly endearing yourself to my trust are you?"
"The license thing was a misunderstanding. I'm not mad, just like to experiment and people are the best test subjects. And my wanted status... so a few people went missing here and there? They were thugs and low lives. They deserved it." His lips curled up into an almost haunting smile.
We continued walking, talking like... well, normal people. It was nice.
As we sat in a cafe we continued talking. "Thank you. For this." I smiled raising my coffee cup slightly as two young girls walked over.
"Miss Oxton." One spoke. "May we get your autograph?" They smiled. I looked across at medic who just smiled. "Oh. We're sorry for interrupting your date."
"It's not a date." I smiled pulling a pen from my pocket like the nurse that I am, and signed a photograph of all the Overwatch agents.
"Thank you so much." They smiled before running off.
"Sorry about that. Occupational hazard." I laughed.
"It is fine." He smiled, standing up. "I guess I should let you go home now."
"I had a good time. Thank you." I offered my hand to shake, he took it and shook my hand gently. "See you again sometime." I smiled.
"Mach's gut." He spoke before we parted ways.
That was not the end however, we shared multiple correspondents over the passing months, meeting whenever our schedules allowed. Today however, today was risky.
Lena and I had FINALY been given our own rooms, mainly so she could spend more time with Emily which I completely understood.
It was about 9pm and I was waiting in the lobby area by the front door. Once I saw him I quickly opened the door. "Mein Liebling." He greeted as he pulled me into his arms.
"Sshh. Come on." As we were making our way down the corridor I saw Angela round the corner, I quickly checked to see if the adjacent room was empty and pushed him in. "Heya Angela. What you doing up so late?" I smiled.
"Just finished working. You?"
"Just talking a Walk, been sat in the lounge and lost track of time." I smiled.
"Well. Have a good night."
"Yeah. You too." I called after her. I opened the door, pulling medic back out. "Too close. That was too close. Who's stupid idea was this anyway?" I laughed.
"That would be your stupid idea." He grinned. As I opened my door.
"Just shut up and get in." As I shut the door he pulled me into his chest.
"As delightfully amusing as this sneaking around business is, it is getting difficult." He mumbled as he began kissing down my neck. "I don't know how much longer this can go on without giving each other what we both want."
"I know. Hence why you can stay tonight." I smirked.
"Liebling." He smiled, his hand cupping my cheek, "are you sure?" He asked.
"Ohne dich bin ich nichts." I smiled.
"Been practicing schatz." He grinned. I jumped up, wrapping my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck.
"Nimm mich."
"Gern." He smirked.
The next morning I woke up to someone pounding on the door. "Wake up! You said we were going out today!" I heard Lena on the other side of the door.
"Mmm. I don't wanna." I smiled into Medic's chest. "I'm far too comfortable."
"Go on. Get up." He mumbled but pulled me into a tight hug.
"Isn't that a little counter intuitive?" I smiled, propping myself up next to him.
"Ja. You have a point." He grinned, watching me get up and pull on my dressing gown. I opened the door so Lena could come in.
"Oh my god! What's he doing here?!" She called, looking at medic like she was about to tear him apart.
"We're... together. We've been speaking and meeting in secret for months now." I explained, pulling on some jeans and a t-shirt, throwing medic his clothes from the pile beside my bed. "I know what he did and I had a hard time coming to terms with the fact that he actually liked me as opposed to wanting intel but I guess I just fell." Once dressed he stood next to me with an arm wrapped around my waist.
"I'll take my leave now, let you and your sister have some time together. You'll come to the base tonight right?" He smirked.
"If it's anything like last night you'll have trouble keeping me away." I smiled and walked him to the door. "I'll see you tonight." I stood up on my tip toes, placing a kiss on his lips, only to be pulled in closer.
"Mm. Ja. Bis später." And with That we parted ways for the day. I'm just looking forward to seeing him again, but also for a great day with my sister. I now have the best of both worlds.
