Chapter 27

I woke up the next day, feeling so alive! I didn't want to cry! I didn't want to be alone! I had finally found my peace! I was feeling so relieved from all that pain that was torturing me all those years.

I could feel a head on my arm. I looked down and I saw Y/n sleeping so peacefully on my shoulder. I smiled at her, even tho she couldn't see that wide smile on my face.

I closed my eyes as my lips fell on the skin of her forehead, kissing it. My heartbeat was faster than ever. I wrapped my hands around her because she was shivering. I could feel her goosebumps against my skin.

Soon, our naked bodies warmed up. I felt a hand brushing my hair back. I smiled knowing who it was. I started kissing her cheek, making her giggle.

"Buongiorno amore mio!"

I said. I couldn't help myself but say that phrase. It took me back to our glorious moments! She smiled at me and she pecked my lips.

"Good morning, Matthew! How are you feeling today?"

"I actually feel so good today! What about you?"

"I feel the same!"

I smiled once again, knowing she had taken the best sleep too since our divorce. Just like me! My head was against her neck smelling her unique perfume.

Her left hand was placed on my arm which was wrapped around her torso. On her other arm, I was resting my head. Our hearts were beating so fast, just like the first time we saw each other after years.

That beautiful and magical day in high school! I was walking with my best friend Hudson. We weren't really paying attention to anyone around us until we heard a group of girls laughing.

Flashback

"The key to your success is your butt. If your butt starts hurting, then you'll be officially successful."

"What the heck, Hudson?"

"What? I'm speaking facts, Morris!"

We both started laughing. We kept talking about random stuff, ignoring everyone around us. We made our conversations seem like they were important.

Suddenly, a group of laughing girls got our attention, well, actually my attention. I turned my head as Hudson's monologues kept going.

My eyes fell on a beautiful girl who was wearing a white hoodie. I completely froze as I started admiring her beauty. One of the girls of her group noticed me. She tagged her arm, making my crush look at her. Then, she pointed to me and Y/n immediately smiled. I smiled back at her.

That moment I realized I had just found the love of my life! The woman I would spend the rest of my life with!

End of flashback

"What's up with that smile?"

She asked me. I let a small laugh out and my eyes immediately met hers. I pulled her closer to my naked body. My hand ran through her hair.

"I was thinking about the first time I saw you!"

"You were such a cutie!"

"And you were such a goddess!"

She placed a kiss on my lips and we smiled at each other. I couldn't get enough of her! We were separated from each other for six-seven years!

The problem was... we were still separated. The law had destroyed the documents that confirmed our marriage. I felt her small hand on my cheek.

"Hey, why are you crying?"

I hadn't realized I was crying until Y/n told me. I looked at her with tears in my eyes. I could feel the pain coming out of me. All these memories from my dark days, how much I was suffering everyday!

She pulled me in her hug and she allowed me to cry on her shoulder. Her hand was on my back, rubbing it against my skin.

"Matthew, please, don't cry! Everything will be fine, I promise!"

She kissed my head. I immediately felt like something threw all my problems away. I kept my head on her, against her collarbone. I could smell her perfume and immediately calm down.

That was the Y/n I knew! She was the girl I fell in love with! My love, my number one supporter! My whole life was around her! My potion, my oxygen... my everything!
