It was time once more, Kraglin was kneeling down next to Cati and watching the ships entrance. The soft worry on her face had said it all.
"They're alright Cati, don't worry yourself so much with what they're doing alright?" Kraglin reassured her. As a small seven year old, you would expect Cati to be more energised and hyperactive, and very childish. Although the crew have mentioned multiple times that she is the kindest little thing you could ever meet, and very mature for her age. Cati didn't know about that, thinking that was the way everyone's mind was like right? What was so different about herself?
Maybe if she was allowed out into the world then it would be easier to know and figure out what everyone was talking about! This was driving her insane, but she couldn't ask about it, no, last time Yondu got upset, and she didn't want him to be upset. Never, he was too special for that.
Cati hummed solemnly, tightening her grip on Kraglin's hand. "Are you sure? What if... They are hurt? Or stuck in a cave? Or they were all shot and they're-" Being cut off, Kraglin stood up while scooping the girl into his arms. Sighing. "Cat, you worry too much, they're the strongest people ever, you'd be surprised by how many of the other side are dead instead." He smiled, Cati didn't so much like that answer either. Frowning.
It was hard to be in the ship also, she cried at the sight of blood and hated anything being destroyed, she thought everything had meaning and life in them. Just because they couldn't show it, didn't mean they had feelings. One time, Cati related a small plant to Yondu, since he didn't show his feelings to any of the others a lot of the time, but with her, his persona changed incredibly. Like a plant, it doesn't sprout when people are looking at it.
Suddenly, the doors of the ship opened, showing a happy crew that laughed and chatted amongst each other. Cati's eyes had filled with tears, Kraglin setting her down on the floor, as she rushed over to them all. "Y-Yondu!" Her small voice cried, the crew turned to face the small girl, tired faces lighting up with delight. The blue man picked her up into his arms, spinning the tiny girl around while grinning. His teeth baring to Cati as she hugged him tight.
"I-I was so worried Yondu! I thought someone had hurt you, or you were lying dead or!-" Everyone chuckled, a few beginning to walk off to eat or mess around. "Don't think such a thing girl, i'm never dying on ya'- Promise." He leashed out his pinky, Cati's face flushed as she clasped their pinky fingers together. "Promise."
When Cati later found herself in Yondu's bedroom, she was sitting on the bed, fidgeting with her red dress. Thoughts beginning to pile in. About outside, and what it was like. Why Yondu wouldn't let her out and refused to let her see what an interrogation was. That was the main thing on this ship, everything was kept secret from her, nothing allowed out apart from what food they were having that night.
This made her worry, why was she not allowed to see something so secretive? Did they not think her strong enough? Was that it? Considering the fact that everyone says she is part of the crew, but never let her touch any weapons or go on missions with them. Which, one of them was fine, she never liked guns and didn't want to hold one any time soon. It hurt people. That was a terrible thing to behold.
Cati didn't think herself a brave person, she was very shy and wouldn't win a fight so easily without hugging the other. A sigh drifted from her lips, why did everything feel so difficult?
"Knock knock." Came a cracking voice, Cati turned to the doorway while clasping her small hands together. Then noticed who it was. "What are you doing in my room girl?" Yondu asked, stepping in with his hands in his pockets, his movement slow and careful. Cati smiled just a little. "I'm sorry, your room is just very good for thinking." She replied, Yondu chuckling as he sat next to her. "Don't be sorry."
Silence lifted the room, more questions emptied out into Cati's mind, and she found it impossible to keep track of which thought was which. "What you thinking about?" He asked again, breaking the ice while Cati fidgeted with her finger strawberry blonde hair. "I'm not really sure, my head is feeling all fuzzy again." Cati turned to him as he placed his palm on her forehead. "That's because you think too much girl."
Cati sighed and turned her gaze back down to the floor, finding it funny how her feet weren't anywhere near the ground. Yondu huffed out some air, she watched him curiously, wondering what he was going to say now. "Well, there's food out, Kraglin made up your favourite tonight, he knew you were upset earlier about the crew leaving. Then again, you always are." Yondu chuckled. Cati watched his face outstretch into a grin. "Okay, let's go. I wouldn't want to not eat and him be disappointed."
Before she could slide off the bed and onto the ground, Yondu scooped her up and began to walk down into the eating area. "Silly girl." He breathed simply. Listening to his footsteps, Cati began to relax in his arms, her own wrapped around the blue man's strong neck as she buried her face into Yondu's shoulder.
Strange though, she heard another pair of footsteps, almost perfectly in rhythm to Yondu's. Cati didn't know what that was but both footsteps together were found relaxing. Then, when she squinted open her eyes, a scream escaped her throat. Yondu flipped his body around, a sharp whistle escaping his mouth while pushing Cati's head down into his shoulder.
Not knowing what was happening, Cati panicked, gripping onto Yondu's jacket tightly. Then, she was placed onto the ground, Yondu not letting her see the blood splattered over the floor and the body laying dead beside it. "Gray, go to the others! They'll protect you, run!" He ordered, she hesitated while standing there. Tears flowing down her cheeks already, she couldn't handle this, what was happening? More secret stuff? What secret stuff was it and who was that man with the gun?
Without one more question freeing her mind, she heard the stampede of footsteps behind Yondu, watching as she was pushed on to run to the others. Her small feet fled as fast as they could, running around the corner and stumbling into the eating area. "G-Guys! Y-Yondu!-" Her voice faded off into a whisper. Eyes staring at everyone in the room, they were attacking these... People. Who were they? Why were they here?
Cati screamed as she dived for under a table, crawling forward as tears erupted from her eyelids. Rolling down her cheek with every passing second. One of the crew members were forced against the table she was crawling under, causing it to collapse in an instant. The little girls speed picked up as she crawled out of the other side. Gasping for air and trying to find Kraglin. Yet it was too late, her arm was snatched, making Cati fall back, picked up and thrown over someone's shoulder.
"N-No! P-Please p-put m-me d-down! Y-Yondu! K-Kraglin!" She sobbed, her body shaking violently while she was brought onto a ship. Yondu had arrived down into the room, but she only caught a glimpse of the blue man before suddenly. Darkness.
