The voice was dark, reminiscing the looming shadow from the front of that new dreary building. It was Quill, of course, thought he was with his father.

"Whatever the fuck we want. Have a problem?" Cati's voice was always instantaneously filled with fury when she spoke to him, what a let down, how much she dreamed of this moment, to yell, scream even... All the words that came to mind when she thought about him. The suffering that he put her through, it might have not left scars or marks on her body, but it left this eternal wound inside her chest, throat and stomach. They were always bleeding out, clogged up and causing her to choke, words failed.

Why the fuck wouldn't they come out?

Matthew's safety, his arms that kept her from the pain such as her mind, were useless against her father. If it weren't for his selfishness and pathetic lies, they wouldn't have fallen apart. The two of them. Mother... Would've been alive.

"Cati. Watch your-" Quill began, yet the girl stood up, throwing away Matthew's arms and glaring back at him. "Whatever. Go fuck yourself." And left at that, she was gone, jogging down the steps, Matthew watching in a horrified amazement when she stuck up her middle finger in the air, pointing in their direction and storming off.

Peter was unsure of his situation, how to control or handle this, for definite, he wasn't cut out for dad shit, Cati wasn't planned, but he made a vow to be there for her, he didn't want to be like what he thought his own father was like. It was always him desperately wishing for himself to be better. Yet he failed, so how the fuck could he fix a mistake like this?

"Ya know, you could just talk to her?" As if answering his question, in came Matthew with his input. "Did I ask?" Quill snapped, crossing his arms furiously and continuing to watch Cati flee in a state of rage. "It's called help. I'm not looking for your approval, maybe if I heard actual stories about you then... I'd have a different approach."

Without a second thought, the red head made his seat a small distance from Matthew. Resting his hands in his lap and sighing. How exhausting this was?

He couldn't even be an actual parent and pretending to be a good one dragged down his shoulders, like heavy anvils were trailing along the ground behind, and dragged him further down. The feeling of Cati not wanting him alive or anywhere near her, it angered him greatly. Why? Was that really how bad this was?

The innocence she had, a loveable kindness for everyone, caring about every detail of the universe, keeping it close. Now the sweet heart that once bloomed and infected every creature around her was decaying, where was their daily dose of bright, shining happiness.

"You're a fool Quill... Run after her."
