The planet trembled once, as if mimicking Ego’s every move. It made everyone standing very shocked and confused, Gamora seemed to be handling this very well though, she was more cautious and trying to focus on everything, studying it’s aura so she knew in the future if it was going to be a threat. Drax was... Well Drax. Then there was Matthew, softly holding Cati’s hand as he traced his thumb over the back, feeling her gentle skin against his rough exterior.
Little details like this made him happy, and definitely not able to contain the smile. Cati did not show any signs of enjoying this small gesture, apart from the light blush grazing her cheeks and how she did not yell or shove him away. It was calming, to have Matt close and to have him as a sort of relaxing buddy for all this new information.
As they all began to walk into a very strange looking building, they could all see large objects with moving particles inside, in rhythm with Ego's words. “You see Peter, this is how I came to be—”
Another long, and lengthy explanation. Everyone was interested, everyone bar Cati.
Why was it important? She honestly had no reason to be there, she was so useless and pointless, standing on that one spot. As everyone spoke, she turned on her heel, leaving them all and the room behind. To this, Matthew definitely did not hesitate to follow after, his hands in his pockets as he kept a close watch on her.
Cati sat outside, watching the sky and the different colours form together, creating different hues and making it look like candyfloss. The world was quiet, the only sound being the distant murmur coming from inside the interior.
“Babe? You okay?” Matt asked, slowly walking up behind her and glancing down at the top of her rose red hair. Cati was in a dome of depression, she was not relevant in this situation and it hurt her, she was almost desperate to leave but not that way.
“I don't know why I'm here...” Cati began to quietly whisper, as if not admitting to herself as to how she felt. Although Matthew knew, he knew this so well that he sat down behind her on a slightly higher up step. Cati in between his legs as he wrapped his arms around her, gently placing his chin on the top of her scalp. “You’re overthinking Cat, I need you here, and I'm sure your Dad, Drax and everyone else does too. But even if they didn't, I want you here, right now.”
Cati’s solemn gaze had drifted up to peer at Matthew, making him shift around and nuzzle into her more as a comforting mechanism. The gestures were all just adding to her relaxing state. “I-I know.” Cati whispered, breathing out slowly and leaning back against his chest.
“Mm, you're so beautiful... I don't understand how anyone wouldn't want you.” His words silky and smooth, it caused her stomach to flutter as they were about to connect their lips. Relaxing, peaceful and an extraordinarily romantic aura surrounding them both. Cati locked in his arms for safety. Matt holding his only love.
“What do you think you're doing?”
