A man. An older man. Around his fifties, very possibly fourties, had arrived in a white vessel. Matthew groaned while rubbing his forehead with his sleeve. Giving Cati an exhausted glance. “How many more of these guys are there?” He asked, Quill glaring daggers into Matthew's face.

Although Cati tried to block them all out, sighing and walking past them. “Who are you?” She asked, crossing her arms. The man smiled smoothly, the wrinkles on his face moving along with the expression. “I am Ego, here for my son. Peter Quill.” Cati flinched when the man spoke, her arms unfolding as her eyes widened.

Peter seemed just as shocked, watching the scene and stepping forward. “Y-You’re... What?” He didn't believe the man of course, standing in front of Cati with a straight face. Cati peered up at her father, frowning and looking at him. “P-Peter...” The man smiled when she had said his name.

“Son. I am so glad... To see you.”

...

As the Guardians of the Galaxy sat in the vessel. Cati and Matthew stood by a small window, showing them the outside, the teen came up behind her, hugging her from behind by her waist while testing his chin on her structured shoulder. It was very obvious how intensely she was thinking, Cati's brows furrowed in a deep thought while biting her lip. “Are you alright dearie?” He teased in an English accent, making her laugh just very slightly.

“S-Stop it Matt, doesn't this man freak you out?” She asked. Matthew sighed and shrugged, leaning against the wall instead. Cati noticed how his face relaxed when she laughed, like a deflated pillow, so large and making a lot of infuriating noises, then breathing out every ounce of jokes and laughter it has. That was a funny thought.

Ego was sleeping across the ways. A strange woman placing her hand on his head as the antennas on her head began to glow. It was a very odd sight, but Cati was mainly focusing on the truth behind all of this. “It doesn't freak me out because he looks very alike to your Dad, and you.” He tilted his head down at her, Cati looking forward out of the window still, her brow knitted still.

“He looks nothing like me.” She hissed. Matthew chuckled. “Have you seen yourself? You have the same eyes as your Dad, and he has the same eyes as his. You look practically identical if you weren't a hot girl.” He glanced over at her grandfather, Cati grinning softly.

It did not take long until they landed on a planet. Ego's planet. All of the Guardians walking outside. Gamora, especially, had asked them to stay on the planet, but they refused. Now all of them were here. Yet this man didn't seem to mind much.

“So. Quill’s father. Is this where you live?” Cati asked suspiciously. Drax talking with the odd girl, Mantis was her name. Even as they spoke, Gamora was frowning at how they spoke. Very weird.

Matthew stared up at the sky, humming. Peter giving him small glares every now and then. “This is my planet. Well, I am practically the planet, it is a long and lengthy explanation. I'm sure the only person who genuinely would care is in fact Peter here.” He chuckled. Quill smiled slightly.

“Well, I am a caring person.” He kidded. Cati scoffed. “A lying, caring person.” She muttered. Peter raised an eyebrow and looked over. “Really? Now of all times? I am trying to talk with my father and you have to—” He began, Cati rolling her eyes.

“If I had a good father then I would talk to him.” She muttered. Peter frowned and looked at her, about to walk over. “C-Cat—” Then they landed. The man walked out, smiling wide. Ignoring the last argument.

“Welcome to Ego!”
