King POV
"What's the big deal?"
"The big deal is, you just insulted my girlfriend and my friend Dad"
"I thought she said she wasn't your girlfriend" mom said
"What caring person would want to claim being with me if they thought it would cause problems between me and my parents?"
"We were just being honest"
"You didn't even give her a chance dad"
"You're coming back to South Korea anyway, was she coming with you?"
"No, we were going to see how we do a year apart still keeping contact through video calls and stuff and if we still cared for each other after a year we would figure out where to go from there"
"Is this just a phase of yours or maybe of hers? Yall just trying to be rebellious?"
"No! I really care for her and you might have messed that up mom. She was the one who got me out of my funk about Eunsol. She defended me, she made me feel good about myself again, she makes me feel like Eunsol leaving me was for me to find someone better and that kept me sane. She saved me from being stuck in a depressive state, I owe her so much for being there for me when she didn't even know me at first and now I don't even know if she will ever talk to me again"
Prince POV
I run all throughout the school looking for Dream and I can't find her. I try calling her numerous times but she turned her phone off. She's progressed so much and this might set her all the way back, I don't think she will harm herself but I can't promise she won't go back to her dark stage. I stop running to catch my breath, put my cap and gown in my backpack and try to think where she could be. I drove her and Hope here so she couldn't have left. I try to remember if there is any place where there is water and I remember we have that huge fountain right in front of a small church on the other side of campus. I start heading over there and pray that she is there and safe. the closer I get to it the more a figure pops up. There's someone sitting on the little bench in front of the fountain and I sit by them. She can't get herself to look up at me so I just hug her and let her cry in my arms.
"I told you guys I wasn't good enough, why did yall refuse to listen"
"I had no idea his parents were like that and I'm sure King didn't know. He would have prepared you if he thought they would react badly"
"I won't cause problems between him and his family"
"You and I both know that King is stubborn so he won't give up on you, he probably already told them that you are his girlfriend"
"It sucks to never be good enough. To be built up like you will finally get your fairytale story and that be snatched from you before it can even really start. It sucks to feel like you have no purpose here. Like no one can love you, care for you, support you, fight the world with you. I am used to it but it still hurts like hell"
"I used to feel like that when I was little but it is not true. You deserve that, you will get all of that. You just got to give King a chance to explain or at least apologize"
"I was going to tell him some big news but no point now...I wonder can I exchange my ticket"
"What was the news?"
"I was going to tell him I got a job teaching abroad but leave out that it would be in Korea since we wanted to see if we could survive a long-distance relationship"
"That's great, you should still tell him"
"There's no point, if his own parents won't accept me then there's no way I will move there for his friends to be the same"
"Dre-*answers phone* Hello? I found her...her feelings are hurt but she's physically okay...she's not going to come back but you can come out here...by the water fountain in front of the church...see ya soon"
"So I got to face him again huh?"
"Yup"
"*lays my head on his shoulder*"
"*arrives out of breath and looks at us* you supposed to be comforting my girl not taking her"
"She wanted to lay on my shoulder and I held her to console her...do you want to argue with me or do you want to find out where yall two go from here?"
"You right, I'm sorry"
I let go of her and whisper in King ear that he better fix this and walk off.
