Chapter 4

~Next Day~ Hope POV

So I can't seem to convince Dream to keep coming to the church, but I did just get a text message from Prince asking if I and Dream would like to go to the arcade with him and King. I think it would be fun but I don't know if Dream would be up for it. I text Dream that I'm coming over and explain that the guys want to hang with us.

"Have them facetime you"

"*calls Prince* Dream wants to talk to you" 

"Come hang out with us"

"Who wants me to come, you so you can be nosy?"

"Both of us...especially King"

" *king flicks prince in the back of the head*"

"*laughs* it doesn't seem like he wants me to come so I'll stay home. Have fun"

"NOOO...I mean, I do want you to come, Prince just made me sound desperate"

"Why do you want me to come? You barely know me"

"I want to get to know you...as friends *scratches the back of his head*"

"*Smile* okay then, I'll go"

"yaaaaaay, *prince cheers* I'm gonna make you smile and laugh and be brighter"

"See ya soon *goes to get ready*"

"When are yall tryna go?"

"Me and King can come by in a couple of hours, that way we give yall time to get ready"

"Sounds like a plan, I'll send you the info so you can stop by the room"

"Thanks"

Prince POV

"*looks at King* Is there something you want to tell me buddy?"

"What do you mean?"

"Do you have a slight interest in Dream?"

"I think she's cool, and like you said it would be nice to get to know her"

"Have you noticed that you haven't been as sad as you were before meeting her?"

"Focusing on someone or something else gets my mind off of everything"

"Fair enough, so will you at least admit you think she's cute"

"Do we even know how old this girl is?"

"In her 20s"

"Dude, I'm 30 and you are like 25...she's going to find me old"

"Most girls like older guys, you'll be fine"

"Let's make a bet, loser buys the winner a meal at some time"

"Deal, but we probably won't get her number today, she's not going to let us in that easily"

"Maybe not but we have nothing to lose by trying"

Dream POV

So I get showered, changed and came out doing my hair. Hope then went in and did the same thing, she brings clothes over from time to time so she was able to do that. After we got ready I went out and got us food from chik fil a because we hadn't eaten all day. 

"Thanks for the food Dream"

"No problem, I wanted a shake anyway"

"Sooooooo"

"What are you up to?"

"You seem slightly happy when talking to the guys"

"They're entertaining, besides Prince embarrassed King so I felt I should at least hang out with them once"

"King seems to like you"

"He's awkward, it's cute"

"Last time I checked he had a girlfriend"

"Not shocking, how old is he?"

"29 or 30 I think"

"30?!?!? We hanging with a GROWN man, not like new adulthood but an ADULT adult?"

"Yeah *laughs* is that bad?"

"No, he just doesn't look 30. He could be an actual father, not a daddy but an actual father"

"*laughs harder crying* you are crazy, it's fine."

"Like what do we have to talk about? I'm stressed with school and he wondering what wedding ring to get. I hate calling the phone company and he's increasing how much money is moved to his 401k every month"

"Does he make you nervous?"

"No, I just don't want to be seen as a child"

"His closest friend is Prince, you're fine"

"*laughs* you're right"

"Of cou- *hears knocking* they're here"

"You gave them my apartment and room number?"

"Yup *opens the door* come in"

"Hello beautiful people *hugs Hope and walks up to me* Can I hug you? Waving is boring"

"*giggles* sure *hugs him*"

"Hi ladies"

"Hey *hugs him* I might have made Dream more closed off than before, especially with you King"

"*looks at me and then Hope* How?"

"She didn't know you guys were as old as you are"

"So we intimidate her? *puts an arm around me*"

"You don't Prince because you are a big kid *looks up at you*"

"So I intimidate you *walks up to me*"

"Slightly"

"Guess I have to slowly change that then huh?"
