"can you make a promise to me, raven?" ethan's deep, raspy voice sends shivers down raven's spine, leaving goosebumps on her cold, fragile skin.

"when i'm gone-" the boy stops himself, letting a tear fall down his soft cheek.
"can you promise me to forget about me? move on, graduate, live the life you dream of, fall in love, get married, have beautiful children. please." ethan pleads, grabbing onto raven's waist pulling her small body closer.

raven feels her heart shatter, into a million pieces at his words.
"i cant, ethan." she cries, her voice barely audible.
"the life i dream of is with you."
the teary eyed boy lets her words sink in.

his heart drops.
"i need you to." he chokes on his own words, a sob leaving his lips.
raven pushes herself away from ethan, pure anger filling every part of her body.

the boy stares at her, his pain showing evidently through his hazel orbs.
he reaches out and delicately places his shaking hand onto raven's wet cheek.

she grabs onto his wrist, pulling his arm off her with every force she has left.
"don't fucking touch me." raven spits in anger.
immense feelings of hurt take over ethan's face.
