The Forgotten Clans~ Black River

Chapter 8

Silverpaw gasped as Raven bit her throat. His grip tightened and she closed her eyes as the sounds around her faded and the last thing she was was Brambleflash yowling her name. She couldn't give up. She was very important to the clans and she had to fight. For a moment, she could smell the scent of her parents around her. She felt energy surge through her, knowing that so many cats counted on her and she was just going to die. The strength of Starclan filled her and she kicked with all her might, feeling Raven tear from her throat. She gasped as a wave of relief swallowed her and she leaped to her paws, and felt blood drip down her chest.

Raven took a moment to recover then leaped at her, slashing her on the shoulder and she whipped around, clawing him on the ear. He hissed and slipped to the side as he failed the rake her across the side. Silverpaw growled and managed to knock him off his paws. He swatted at her and leaped up.

Silverpaw quickly looked around and bolted straight to the wall of cats who yowled with shock as she skidded sideways, Raven crashing into the cats. She quickly whipped on him and racked her claws along his back. He hissed and ran after her again and kept dodging untill he crumpled to the ground with a yowl. With a twisted paw, there was no way he could beat her.

He hissed in pain then staggered up, looking at her with rage. Silverpaw rammed into him, knocking him down. She placed her hind paw on his hind legs and put her front on his throat. "Please down make me kill you. I don't want to kill any cat."

Fire flickered in his eyes but he hissed as he tried to break free but twitched his tail then thumped it twice wincing in pain and surrender.

Shocked yowls sounded in horror and ally cleared of all the watching cats. Trespass's tail and ears dropped and walked slowly to Silverpaw then crouched down. "I didn't think it was true."

"What?" Brambleflash demanded then jumped down and crouched beside Silverpaw as she stumbled off of Raven and collapsed on the floor. He started licking her wounds, glancing at Raven, lying on the floor, covered in blood and dirt.

Trespass looked at him and at the other cats who came to accompany them. Willowpaw allowed Halfpaw to lean on her while Fernpaw limped carefully to them.

"Follow me." He flicked his tail, signaling the large toms to leave.

Trespass lead them to a empty, darker ally and stopped, allowing Raven to curl up somewhat away from them.

"Ok, explain yourself now!" Fernpaw hissed. "You get random cats and kill them for what?"

Trespass sighed and sat down. "You cats believe in a special clan is that right? A magical clan that gives you clues to solve riddles?"

The clan cats hissed and their fur bristled with offense.

"That is not what Starclan is!" Willowpaw yowled over the others, growling at Trespass.

"Ok, Starclan, whatever." Trespass rolled his eyes. "Anyway," He twitched his tail in annoyance. "I have been getting dreams about our undefeated champion being defeated by a silver she-cat. I didn't believe it but my dream kept happening and then she appeared. Then defeated him, worthless price of scrap!" He hissed at the unmoving black fur.

Silverpaw turned to him and her ears dropped. His pride was wounded and he wouldn't look at the world the same. She wanted to tell him that there was always someone better than you but he probably hated her now.

"And then it came true." Tresspass finished with a sigh.

Brambleflash sat beside Silverpaw and she felt her fur brush his. "We visit Starclan."

"What?" Silverpaw looked at him confused.

"Go to the Moontree." Brambleflash replied. "We need Starclan now."
