Chapter 11

Brambleflash sighed with relief as they went further and further away from Sunclan territory and towards the Moontree. His paws ached to go there, and maybe, just maybe he'd see Dawnfern again.

"You." Riley's voice meowed. Brambleflash's fur prickled as she padded beside him. Her fur smelled of the sewers "What's your name?"

"Brambleflash." He meowed, looking forward.

"What kind of name is that?" She laughed.

"My clan name."

She seemed to be taking a mental note then nodded. "So what do you do during the day?"

"Why are you interviewing ME?" He hissed.

"You seemed emotionally unstable and you might give me good information." She purred.

Brambleflash flinched. "I'm not!"

She blinked. "Ok. Whatever, Flash." She padded away to Larchdust.

Brambleflash hissed at himself and continued to walk. "Am I?"

His paw steps grew heavy then suddenly Fernpaw bounced to them. "We are here!"

Night fell over the place and they all came across and ridged land of rocks.

"This is the moon tree?" Raven grunted unamused.

"No." Larchdust said and disappeared behind a rock. The others followed him and the apprentices gasped in wonder as they looked around. Moonlight glittered off the water and in the center was a massive silver tree with leafless branches that seemed to glow.

"This is amazing!" Silverpaw sighed, looking around.

Riley and Raven seemed to not believe what they were seeing and finally leaped across the stepping stones to the little island with the tree. Halfpaw stopped as he watched Willowpaw leap across.

"Come on!" Willowpaw hissed at him. He looked at her then backed up.

"I can't."

Willowpaw waited for the others to cross then leaped back to him. "It's easy." She said. "Are you scared?" She teased.

He backed up, and looked at the water. He looked at her seriously and swallowed. "Yes. My sister died by drowning."

She looked down guilty. "Oh." She looked at the stones then at him. "It's easy. Just follow me." She jumped on the first rock and looked back at him then leaped on the second. Halfpaw hesitated then leaped on the first rock and wobbled but regained his balance. He and Willowpaw leaped over to the island.

Brambleflash looked at the massive tree and he remembered the first time he came with his mentor here.

"Touch your nose to the tree and you'll go to sleep." Brambleflash said.

"Yeah right." Riley rolled her eyes.

"That's impossible." Raven agreed.

Larchdust got in a comfortable position then touched his nose to the tree and fell asleep immediately.

Fernpaw followed then Pooldapple, then Halfpaw and Willowpaw then Riley, Silverpaw and Raven, Branchpaw, Flamepaw, hen Dovepaw. Brambleflash made sure he was the last one then took a deep breath then prepared to see Dawnfern once again.

His body shuddered and he was hot and cold at the same time then everything turned black then Stars swirled around him. Starry pelts sparkles around him and he backed up, bumping into Halfpaw. He turned and saw all the cats with him.
