When Willowflame returned, her eyes were wide with disbelief and soon other warriors came out behind her.

"What?" Silverspark asked her.

"There is a Treeclan apprentice at camp." She replied, trying to contain her anger.

"Why?" She snapped.

Willowflame shrugged. "He was scared and said that Patchstar was crazy and had a plan."

Silverspark shivered then nodded toward Cloudstar who was walking over to Skypaw and her mentor.

"There is no way we can tell who drowned her." The leader said.

Silverspark sighed and nuzzled her sister's shoulder in comfort.

...

Silverspark trotted into camp and saw the scrawny Treeclan apprentice pressed to the floor. He looked around and caught her eyes then quickly glanced down. Raven shouldered passed her and went to his den in the medicine cats den. Skypaw went out with some other warriors to tell Starclan and revive her name.

She walked to the apprentice and looked down. "What's wrong?"

"Y-you're a s-s-Silver cat." He meowed quietly.

Silverspark rolled her eyes. "So?"

"They're d-dangerous." He mumbled.

"Why did you come here?" She said calmly.

"Patchstar is crazy and he w-wants to side w-with Bayclan to take over the forest. H-he also wants to k-kill the weak cats, l-like me and some of the kits."

"Did you tell Cloudstar that?"

He nodded fearfully. "That's why I ran away. T-to be safe."

Silverspark added, "Did Patchstar kill all his silver tabbies?"

"With his very own c-claws." He said. "B-But there wasn't t-that much."

Silverspark nodded. "My sister is the medicine cat and she will return to help you."

He nodded then curled up in the sunlight.

...

Willowflame snuck out again, and no one noticed and Silverspark finally decided to follow her. She ran out, trying to make as little noise as possible and she heard leaves being crushed behind her.

She whipped around and saw Raven. "What are you doing here?"

"Following your friend. She might be the one who killed the calico."

"You know we have names?" She hissed.

He nodded.

"Willowflame didn't kill her. You know she didn't."

"But she keeps sneaking out and I want to see where she's going." He bared his teeth at her and Silverspark had no choice but to slink after him.

Willowflame's ears pricked and she turned around and saw them. Her eyes blazed with anger and she marched over to them. "Why are you following me?"

"Where do you go?" Raven demanded.

"What?"

"Where do you go all the time. I lay in the medicine cats den and I see everyone who goes in and out. You always leave. So where do you go?"

Willowflame's eyes slowly grew into fear. "Hunting."

Silverspark twitched her whiskers, afraid her best friend was lying.

"Willowflame!" A voice whispered loudly. Raven looked at Willowflame then at Silverspark then shouldered his way past and approached the river.

Halflight was standing there awkwardly staring across that the three cats. Willowflame's tail and ears dropped, defeated.

Silverspark's heart hurt and she couldn't believe any of this.

Raven whipped around and stalked to the woods and Halflight glanced a worried look at Willowflame and she nodded and he ran away back to his home.

Silverspark leaped out and in front of him. "What are you doing?!" She hissed.

"Telling Cloudstar." He replied and dodged her.

"Raven, you can't!"

"She's breaking the warrior code."

"Since when do you care—know the warrior code?"

"Skypaw told me, now move!" He dodged her again.

Silverspark saw Willowflame sit down at the river hopelessly and she knew she had to beat Raven to camp. She dashed ahead and she looked up as lightning flickered across the sky and a strong smell rose in the air.

She ran faster and skidded to a halt. "Great Starclan!"

Ahead of her, trees crackled and burned and yowls of fear and pain rose along with wails of terror. Thick smoke rose in the air and yellow and orange flames lapped everywhere.

"Goldenstar's vision..." she mumbled and felt Raven stop beside her.
