Kara's POV.

Ring ring.

The shrill sounding bell echos down the compact corridor, signalling the end of lunch. I glance down at the timetable displayed on my phone and- great, science.

I hate science. Particularly since I have the worst teacher in the world; Miss Luthor. I swear she hates me. Don't get me wrong, everyone adores her, they all think she's really good looking or something. To me she seems too young to be a teacher looking like only a year or two older than me, but I'm not one to judge.

I don't even know what's so bad about her, she just gives me more homework than everyone else. Apparently, she sees 'potential in me' - as I was informed once by my best friend but I couldn't tell if he was joking or not.

I meet up with Winn since we are pretty much in all the same classes together and we head off to class.

We take our usual seats at the back of the room, pulling out our notebooks. The rest of the class filter in, chatting loudly as they take their seats exceptionally slow. My gaze flicks around, spotting some students throwing paper airplanes around to room.

Knowing my luck, Miss Luthor enters just after I got hold of one and threw it so it saws across the classroom.

I watch cold eyes follow the plane before it grows limp and falls at her feet. Her eyes meet mine and I freeze. She gives me a death glare as she walks behind her desk and sits down.

I feel my heart racing. I've never been in trouble before. My face burns up; I place my hands on my forehead and feel the warmth radiating from my skin.

The class quietens down just after word was spread that the teacher was present in the room. Oh crap; I'm in trouble.

"Kara, right?" Miss Luthor asks lowly, carefully opening the lid of her laptop before her eyes shoot up, giving me another cold stare, chilling me to the bone.

I gulp, feeling the sense of everyone's eyes burning into my skin. I try to pretend that no one was staring, to block out their gazes so evidently attached to my being, but they all were.

I nod my head just slightly, as if it twitched before her eyes draw back to her laptop screen and she starts typing. My pulse seems to unbeknownst match the rhythm of her fingers typing on the keyboard as I await my fate.

"See me after class." She says, face completely deadpanned and emotionless. She seems so mad, so cold. I didn't know why she was being so dramatic, I only threw one paper airplane.

I couldn't breathe properly, the air around me was suffocating me and I couldn't seem to get enough of it to my lungs. No one has ever been this mad at me before... okay, apart from maybe that one time when Eliza caught me flying Alex around Midvale, but that was ages ago.

I tell myself to take a deep breath, try to regulate my breathing as best as possible. Thankfully, everyone removed their gaze from me and beings to pay attention to the only reason why we are all here; to learn.

Miss Luthor stands up and starts her lesson, about a subject which I have no idea as I'm not paying attention, but rather worrying about what Eliza is going to say when she finds out I'd gotten into trouble. But then again, Alex gets herself into trouble all the time.
