I wake up the next day at the crack of dawn. Great.

Sighing to myself, I jump into the shower before drying my hair and getting changed into some jeans and a sweater. I head down the stairs and into the kitchen where I pour myself a bowl of cereal before eating it all and grabbing my bag.

I'm about to walk out the door, until I realise I'm extremely early. Groaning to myself, I throw myself onto the couch before turning on the TV.

Alex and Eliza aren't here to give me a lift to school, so I guess I'll be taking the bus instead.

I grab some money before heading out the door and I'm nearing the bus stop when I hear my phone buzz.

"Lena?" I ask curiously.

"Good morning, Kara."

Just the sound of her voice sends chills through my body. Not cold chills, but warm relaxing chills.

"Is everything okay?" I question, wondering why on earth she would call me before school.

"Everything's fine, I was just wondering if you'd like a lift to school?"

I don't answer straight away. Of course I don't want to get the bus or walk, and having Lena for company is a bonus. In fact, a huge bonus.

"Wouldn't people notice?"

"I could just drop you round the corner?" Lena suggests.

"Only if you wouldn't mind?"

"Of course not, I'll see you soon."

"Bye." I say before ending the call.

I wait for around two minutes before deciding it would be a better idea to head home as that's where she will probably be going.

It isn't a long walk, it's only around the corner since the bus stop is about a two minute walk from my house.

As soon as I reach my driveway, I'm met by the familiar car waiting outside for me. I rush over to it, not wanting Lena to have to wait any longer than she already had.

"Sorry for making you wait." I say really quietly. I'm still in shock that I had nearly freaking kissed her yesterday.

"It's alright." She replies with a smile. It makes me feel light headed. "How are you?" Lena asks politely as I slide into the passenger seat.

Crap. I'm feeling like crap.

"Alright," I shrug nonchalantly, "what about you?"

"I'm good." She responds before driving out of the driveway and towards the school.

For the whole journey we sit in silence.

I can't stop thinking about our near kiss yesterday for the entire drive, it makes me feel uneasy just thinking about it.

She pulls up just around the corner from the school because barely anyone goes here. I have science last again today, but I don't think I'll be able to concentrate with Lena as a teacher.

"I'll see you later?" She asks, braking to stop the car.

I nod, gulping as I can't believe how good she looks in that dress. And the way she's done her hair.

She's wearing it down, straight. Not a single curl in sight. She has a perfect middle parting and her green dress compliments her toxic green eyes and her blood red lips.

"See you in class," I squeak before grabbing my bag and opening the door. "Thanks again."

She waves at me as she wears a perfect smile. I slam the door shut, trying to pull myself together. I still have to get through the whole day. Let alone science class later.

I mean, at least it's Friday, meaning I have the whole weekend ahead of me to get over it.

I meet up with Winn, Sam and James at our lockers, catching up with each other.

Eventually, the bell rings.

At lunch, just after I sit down, I receive a text from Alex.

Alex:
Hey sis, just wondering how you're doing?

Me:
I'm good thanks, you?

Alex:
Yeah, I'm alright. I know mom's been away a lot and I know you'll be alone for a while but you could ask Sam or Winn to stay over?

Me:
No, no. It's all fine.

I'll see you Monday?

Alex:
See you Monday :)

I finish up my lunch before the bell rings, signalling for the last lesson. Science.

Winn and I are the last in the classroom before Lena arrives. I can't help but get weird butterflies in my stomach as Lena walks into the class.

She takes my breath away.

Winn and I are sat at the back of the class, like normal, and she keeps glancing over at us. I probably blush a few times as she walks around the room if I her spot her staring at me. Okay, that's a lie. I spend the whole lesson blushing.

I think Winn probably notices because he keeps giving me confused looks as to why I can't stop blushing.

I think he must've noticed I and Miss Luthor staring at each other because he starts smirking and stops giving me weird looks.

I just glare at him, causing him to stop with his smug face.

Miss Luthor looks over at me with a smile and it makes my insides go crazy.

When the bell rings, everyone starts to leave the classroom. Unfortunately, being at the back of the room, means that I am one of the last out.

Winn and I start chatting about various different things, but our conversation is cut short by Miss Luthor.

Everyone else had left and it's just me, Winn and Miss Luthor.

"Kara," she says, really softly. Winn's probably weirded out as she never speaks like that in class. "Could you stay behind for a bit?"

I gulp, feeling my face turn red as my heart stops. When Miss Luthor turns away to collect some things from the desks, Winn gives me a smug smirk before raising an eyebrow and leaving the classroom.

I roll my eyes at him.

"I'll see you soon, Kara."

"Text me later." I call after him. He lifts up his thumb behind himself before disappearing off.

One question floods my head. What does Lena - or Miss Luthor - want?

"How're you doing?" Miss Luthor asks me after Winn had left and closed the door behind him.

"Alright." I reply, unsure where this conversation is going or what it's purpose even is.

Miss Luthor smiles sweetly at me, making me blush as I smile back.

"Good. Well if there's anything I can do, just ask. Or if there's anything you think of later, you have my number."

I nod. "Thank you."

"Did you need a lift home or anything?" She questions again and I find myself trying to discover what is going through her head at the moment.

After yesterday, I don't think a lift from her would be a good idea.

"I think I'm okay, but thank you. I could do with a bit of a walk." I explain to her briefly.

Miss Luthor nods, seeming sort of sad. "It'll do you some good."

"I'll see you next week?"

Miss Luthor smiles briefly. "See you on Monday. Take care."

"You too," I say, "bye," I say before picking up my bag and walking out.

Why did I just deny a ride home from her? What was I thinking?

It tears my heart to pieces, just thinking about the look on her face when I had denied her offer. Does she think that I don't like her anymore because of that near kiss?

Because she thinks she made a mistake?

Oh Rao, I hope not.
