- chapter two -
the case of a very worthy veteran,
a odd pregame, a party crasher
and non editing author!day and night for about a month saber worked with doctor banner and tony stark, if they weren't a odd trio then saber didn't know what a odd trio was.
all three of their personalities were different but saber identified more with tony. especially his sarcasm and textbook narcissism which is where they became great friends.
" see now, the a.i is separate from jarvis, he's configured differently." saber spoke to both banner and stark. she looked at the hologram of the a.i layout with banner standing behind her adjusting his thin rimmed glasses.
banner looked between the hologram and saber with a impressed expression. banner was truly impressed by her work and her technological knowledge.
" wow." banner simply said admiring her work pulling his glasses off. "good work lightsaber, i'm impressed to know someone smarter than me." stark playfully said the backhanded compliment coming up behind saber. bruce caught the shade looking at stark with a look that spoke 'very funny stark'.
stark acted as if he had genuinely forgotten banner before sarcastically saying, "you too big guy." saber couldn't help but crack a smile at stark's comment. "gee thanks stork." saber laughed at her own nickname for him. the moment was cut off by natasha poking her head in the lab before announcing, "the pizzas are here!"
immediately stark moved away from saber quickly leaving the lab when the word 'pizza' left nat's mouth. banner patted saber's shoulder taking one last glance at the hologram before leaving the lab. "ultron." saber mumbled to herself before walking to the glass door of the lab leaving.
she joined the group of adults in the living room seeing four boxes of pizza on the coffee table. "hey commander," steve greeted offering a wave and friendly smile. when he found out she had once been a commander he did not let it go and it had worked it's way to being her nickname.
saber sat next to steve mocking his voice with her own greeting, "hey captain." she smiled at him getting herself comfortable on the leather couch. "I feel like we don't even know you, it's like stark and banner are hiding you." natasha jokingly said peering at saber with a cheeky smile picking up a slice of pizza.
saber smiled back at the red haired woman before mocking thor's accent, "you are unworthy of my presence." thor cut his eyes to saber while everyone laughed at her surprisingly on point impression. thor laughed sarcasm dripping from his laugh before boasting, "you are as unworthy as the rest of you midguardians, I am the only worthy one."
" well bob the builder, bring the hammer out and we shall see." saber challenged and everyone raised a eyebrow.
somehow saber felt compelled to challenge thor specifically. "drape boy, you heard the woman," stark egged on with a mouth full of pizza.
thor made a huffing noise getting up disappearing down a hallway for a while. "saber I think you've finally given thor his match." clint comment looking at the woman. saber laughed shrugging before she confidently quipped, " every man has to meet their match some day."
"this is definitely not how I would imagine our pregame would be." tony said playfully looking at saber. "she fits in well." steve chimed in looking at saber's side profile from beside her.
