I really believe that, if something is meant to be yours, it will be.

Don't get me wrong, sometimes you have to work hard to earn it, i really believe that.

But if you worked but you got nothing, don't be mad. Because it wasn't yours from the beginning.

Thirty minutes into our drive, i discovered that Sydney loaded us with tons of food, especially candy.

And we've been eating and playing I spy for the past hour.

"Let's play a game of the famous truth of dare." Sydney crosses her legs and turn to face me as much as the seatbelt would allow her.

I huff dramatically. "Please don't ask hard questions."

"You wish." She smirks. She thinks for almost a minute before finally bursting out. "When was the last time you showered?"

"You didn't ask me truth or dare." I state blankly.

"Dammit." She mutters.

"Let me go first. Truth or dare?"

"We're in a moving vehicle. I'm not choosing dare because i don't want to jump while the car is moving or something."

"I'm not gonna ask you to do that."

She shrugs. "A girl has to take caution."

I shake my head and laugh.

"But seriously, truth."

"Okay. When did you feel the closest to your father?" I drum my fingers on the steering wheel.

She takes a deep breath. "Actually, right before he was taken away." She gazes out of the window.

"Yeah. I know what you mean. When my mom got really sick, i quit my job so i could spend more time with her. I spent every night sleeping on the floor beside her bed while holding her hand. I didn't want to let go."

"Yes, but unfortunately you had to."

I give her a small smile. "Yeah, i know. And i think i'm getting close."

We drive in silence for a few minutes, each of us lost in his own thoughts, before i remember that we didn't resume our game.

"It's your turn."

"Truth or dare?"

"Truth"

"What am i to you?"

What she is to me?

Too many things.

"A best friend. My only best friend. Maybe also my number one fan. My number one supporter. A girl who taught me strength."

I turn to look at her to find tears spilling down her cheeks.

"Why are you crying?" I pull the car over and take off my seatbelt and i wrap my arms around her.

"Did you mean that?" She whispers.

"Yes. I meant every word. You are these things and much, much more."

Her arms wrap tightly around me.

"You mean so much to me too." She whispers.

"Yeah?"

"Yeah."

We pull apart and i start driving again.

"I'm sorry, i just cry easily."

I chuckle softly. "It's okay, Syd."

I plug in the aux and give the phone to Sydney to select a song.

Chris martin's voice fills the car, with Sydney's voice singing along.

Eventually, i join in. We sing and scream out the lyrics, until our throats are sore and we're laughing uncontrollably at each other's voices.

When we get close to the town, it's almost 1 pm.

I park the car at the parking lot of the cinema and kill the ignition.

"What should we do now?" I ask

Sydney's eyes lit up. "A town where no one know us? We should run down the streets." She jumps out of the car and i follow her. After locking the car, she grabs my hand and we bolt.

We run through the streets, hand in hand while screaming out song lyrics.
