Chapter 2 - 1000 Years Ago

Another day I woke up with my signature grin on my face. I start to clean the tavern as everyone else wakes up.

A silver-haired man comes down the stairs yawning and prepares breakfast for the rest of the team. I just smile at everyone and then grope Elizabeth's boobs.

Diane hits me on the head, "Captain! You womanizer!"

I just laugh at her and walk off, about to flip the sign in the window to 'open' but then realize what day it is. I look down and my bangs cover my face, "Everyone has the day off." And then I walk straight to my room and lock the door.

1000 years ago today, my father set a curse upon the one I loved the most because she 'betrayed' me. But she didn't, she left 500 years before that because she was tired with the curse set upon me by the Goddess Elizabeth. For 3500 years, I fought to have that curse lifted so I wouldn't have to keep falling in love with Elizabeth, and I eventually succeeded 500 years ago, but my love had alright been banished 500 years prior. Though, I haven't seen her for 1500 because she left me because she couldn't handle how many times I fell in love with Elizabeth.

The last time I saw her, I had fallen in love with Liz. I do hope one day I will be able to see her again, but who knows when her curse will be lifted.

I sat on my bed with my head held low when I got a knock on my door, "Leave me be." But my orders were not obeyed as the door opened and in came Merlin.

She sits by me and looks at the ceiling, "You know, Meliodas, I miss her too. I know she was your wife, but she was my sister. She was like a mother to all the other sins. I think you at least owe them some of the truth. They know about your curse, they should know about her's. They all deserve to know what today is...." She puts a hand on my shoulder and looks into my eyes, "I believe she'll come back someday, even if it is 1000 years from now or even tomorrow. She'll come back, though I don't think it will be on purpose," Merlin chuckles, "Anyways, they don't need to know the nitty-gritty of what she is, why she was banished and who she was, they just need to know her curse and where she went."

I glance at Merlin, "I guess you are right. They haven't had a clue for 1000 years and I knew the whole time. I guess it is time to tell them."

With that, we both retreated downstairs and sat with everyone at a booth. All the sins, plus Elizabeth awaiting my arrival. I began to speak up and smile at everyone, "Sorry for the scare guys! I just had a moment there. But there is something I need to tell you guys....." I grab Ban's ale and take a sip, "Today marks 1000 years since she went missing, but that isn't what's important. I know where she is..."

"Then why haven't we gone to get her?!" Both Ban and King yelled at the same time, boys see her as a mother figure.

I look at Merlin who speaks up, "Because she's been cursed to the Vale." This caused everyone's eyes to widen.

"The Vale... no way!" Diane exclaims.

Merlin chuckles, "Wow, it seems you guys really don't know anything about her do you?"

You could see the sins go pale, "We have only seen a bit of her magic... but not enough to see how powerful she is or what she is.... I just have never seen her get injured." Ban replied.

I interrupted, "You know, she intended it to be that way. She knew that it was the best way to protect you guys. She wanted you all to not judge her in anyway, not that she was ashamed of what she was, because she is not, but she was dangerous."

The three sins looked down in sadness, they really had no clue to who this woman was, even though they thought of her as their mother and yet... who was she?

"So how did she get cursed?" King asks.

"I can't tell you how or why she got cursed because that isn't my story to tell, but I can tell you who cursed her and banished her from this world..." I look at them dead in the eyes, "The Demon King."

"WHAAAT!?" They all exclaim.

"It is true, she used to have trouble with the demons long ago, but I shouldn't speak too much on that subject." Merlin explains.

"How do you know all of this, Merlin? Where do you fit in all of this?" Ban questions.

Merlin smirks, "I'm her younger sister."

"WHAAAT!?" Merlin and I laugh, but then a deadly aura sets upon us.

The Sins question us but we ignore them as I look at Merlin with wide eyes, "It can't be... There's no way."

Merlin smirks at me, "Seems the someone is back from the dead."
