Flash's head hurt. His eyes hurt. His brain hurt. Despite that the voice was talking again.

The boys restroom was not as ideal to go to as the girls restroom to go cry in. So Flash hid himself within the bleachers.

Nobody should be aloud out here. Which meant Flash should've been alone.

Should've.

That voice was there and it was also bothering him again. He had mentioned it to Ms.Pye who explained it to him scientifically.Then she summarized it in English by saying "It's the thoughts that get loud when the others go quiet."

"How do I make it go quiet again?" Flash asked himself.

"You can't." was the voices answers.

"Well that's damn helpful." Flash said aloud.

"But I didn't do anything yet." A different voice  said scaring the bejeebers out of Flash.

"Ya can't just walk in on a man crying you know." Flash poorly joked.

"But I just did." MJ deadpanned.

"Are you here to make fun of my smarts or to cheer me up with the "everything will be okay" spiel." "If So then hurry up." Flash frustratingly told her.

"God of course not the "everything will be okay spiel". MJ said sounding exasperated.

"Why do people say that anyways?" MJ asked.

"I mean at any moment you can just" MJ gestured to the ground "drop dead."

"That's totally making me feel better."

"Did you want to feel better?" She raised an eyebrow "Or know what you're feeling?"

Flash was stunned for a moment. Sure he knew MJ was smart but wow. This was some Ms.Pye level skills she's got.

"I like this one." The voice whispered. This time Flash agreed with it.

At the end of the discussion Flash deciphered he wants to:
A. Punch his Dad
B. His Dad to just give him one hug
C. His Mom to actually invest in him
D. His Step-Dad to be a good dad

Flash's face was still blotchy and his nose felt runny but boy did he feel better.The walk back to the cafeteria was a pleasant quiet one. MJ returning to her natural stoic state.

Flash didn't like the thought of re-entering the cafeteria but luckily he didn't have to.

Because there were his true friends hanging outside of the doors waiting for him to return.

"I like them." The voice told.

"I like them too." Flash thought.

Turns out they all partially skipped class earning them all detention. The fools. That only earned them more bonding time. Harry also gave Ned the official "First Detention" tour. M.J earned new sketches.

The voice was even quiet for awhile.
