With the war ending and Asgard's win along with the end of the funerals that had been scheduled earlier on just after the return of the soldiers, the city was finally able to celebrate its win. King Odin was planning a ball with every resident of Asgard invited. As he had said when he had announced the ball, men from every family had taken part in the war. It would be unfair for only a few to celebrate their win.

Standing in front of the mirror of her room, Eir got ready for the ball that would take place later that afternoon. She had taken her bath in the pool some hours ago and now she was getting dressed. The bronze dress she was wearing was a rather beautiful piece. It had a wide and slightly deep neckline, no sleeves and it fitted her upper body like second skin before moving on to her hips, where it got slightly wider, enabling her to move.

Eir twirled in front of the mirror, smiling widely as she thought of the night that was in front of her. There was nothing for her to be afraid of, as her friendship with Loki had been restored and Cuyler along with her father no longer bothered with her the way they used to. In all honesty, she was looking forward to the ball.

After she stopped twirling around herself, she took to brushing and then braiding her hair. She took two strands of it from either side of her head and after braiding them separately, she braided them as one around the base of her head. Once that was done, she admired her reflection in the mirror once again before walking away.

Eir grabbed a necklace her father had gotten her when he had travelled to Midgard once. If she remembered correctly, the three giant white ovals of the necklace were made of diamonds. She fastened it around her neck, smiled at her reflection once more and after wearing a pair of shoes, she left her room and headed over to the main hall of the house. As she got there, she saw that her brothers had gotten there first.

Brandt was dressed in dark red armour with gold highlights here and there while Cuyler was wearing a dark blue armour, way more delicate than Brandt's with a silver long cape. Their appearance brought her to smile. She hardly remembered the last time they had dressed so formally to go to a ball.

Brandt was the one to notice her first as he paused while talking, bringing Cuyler to look for whatever had grabbed his brother's attention. Eir sent a wide smile at both of them as she came to stand in between them.

"You both look handsome," she said as she looked at them, "I didn't even know you had such clothes."

"We decided to dress as our status implies for once," Cuyler replied as Brandt nodded.

"Indeed, the next guards of the palace can't go to a hall wearing simple clothes," Brandt added with a smirk before getting serious. "You look beautiful."

"Thank you," she accepted the compliment with a wide smile.

Just then, they heard voices from behind Eir. They all turned to that direction only to see their parents dressed in their best attire, arms hooked as they spoke in hushed tones. When they saw their children, they stopped and smiled.

"I think we are ready," Ingrid mumbled, her eyes remaining on Cuyler for a while longer before she turned to her husband. Brynjar nodded and so, they led the way out of the house.

With the parents at the front and the three siblings behind them, Eir in the middle, they walked over to the palace. They were slightly late to the ball, that was true, but it had been planned like that. As Ingrid liked to say, it was best to arrive to such a ball a few minutes later, dressed in your best attire and aim to impress the guests and if possible, the host themselves.

When they reached the palace, they followed the open doors to the throne room. Getting inside, they received the attention of most of the guests, as Ingrid had suspected and as Eir hoped, they got the attention of the royal family as well. Stopping before the throne, they bowed as one and Frigga walked down to greet them.
