VIRGIL'S POV:

"This is stupid. Think about it! The fence was maybe an inch over the property line, why do we have to bring them to court?" Virgil asked his parents as they drove to the courtroom.

"They refused to move the fence back. Besides, we are already on our way to the trial." Virgil's mom replied.

"Well, of course, they didn't move it back, that would require taking down the entire fence. Even I think that is a bit much for one inch."

"Well, we're here so it doesn't matter."

Virgil groaned and got out of the car. He had only ever gotten glimpses of his neighbors, they didn't seem to go out much. As his mom went to talk to their lawyer, Virgil went and sat into an empty chair.

After a few minutes, another man walked across the room and sat in the chair next to him. The man looked to be about Virgil's age, but much more mature. His hair was slicked back, and he sat with good posture. He wore rectangular glasses that made him look more intelligent than he already seemed. His suit was black, accompanied by a plain navy blue tie.

It wasn't like I blushed or anything though. He isn't like my type at all... Okay, so maybe I thought he was fucking cute. He was obviously our neighbors' lawyer, so it didn't really matter. I slumped over and looked down with a new and sudden fascination for the anatomy of a hand.

"Hello, my name is Logan, you are Virgil I assume." The name fit him. My face got warm.

"Is everything alright? You have gone extremely red, are you sick?" Logan asked snapping me back into reality.

"I'm okay, just warm." I quickly took off the jacket I had pulled on over my suit and began fanning myself, "Y-yeah, I'm Virgil. You're the defendants' lawyer?"

"That would be me," Logan replied filing through his papers and looking down at them again. I took a deep breath and spoke, "Hey Logan, I'm really sorry for all the trouble. This wasn't my idea, my mom has a lot of trust issues and likes to blow up over everything."

"Don't apologize, it was no trouble really. My mom called in and I was in the area, so I quickly typed this up."
"Mom?"

"Oh, forgive me. I forgot to mention, I'm their kid. I don't live at the house, but I visit from college sometimes. I'm studying law so, this is just some practice for me." (I totally have no idea if that is legal.)

"Really?" Damn, I almost feel worse.

After a bit of small talk the trial started and went by in a blur and, of course, we lost but everyone saw it coming. Mom was upset, but no one really paid attention to it. After a bit of chaos, everyone had made it outside and were heading for their cars.

My jacket was back on, despite the heat outside. I dragged behind my mom as we moved to our car when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned to see Logan, he placed his hand in front of him a gesture indicating he wanted to shake my hand. I grabbed it and felt him slip something into my hand. Before letting go he leaned in, and spoke in a voice that wasn't loud enough for anyone around us to hear but not quite a whisper, "Call me."

Aaaand the blush was back. He let go of my hand, and before I could say anything in return he turned around and walked back to his parents. I checked the paper to make sure it said what I thought it did. Sure enough, there was his number.

Oh boy, this would be fun.

A/N: I had really been putting off Analogical because that one is really hard to write, and even though this one took me longer than the others I am probably most proud of this one so far.
