Hidden Sadness (Chapter 1)

"I no longer see you as my brother! Next time we meet, it will be as enemies!"

'I paid no attention to my brothers reaction, I was too prideful'

"We just want you to know that you're hated."

'I deserve it, I was greedy'

"You started that Holy War, 3000 years ago"

'I couldn't see the bigger picture, I was slothful'

"You were the destroyer!"

'And I threw it all away because of my lust for one person, and betrayed the whole clan'

"You betrayed the clan!"

'I was envious of what I didn't have'

"You couldn't save 1 little girl"

'I was gluttonous to save everyone, and didn't focus on who needed it most'

"You destroyed an entire kingdom"

'I was unable to control my wrath'

"You are prideful"

'Yes, I am'

"You are greedy"

'Yes, I am'

"You are slothful"

'Yes, I am'

"You are lustful

'Yes, I am'

"You are envious"

'Yes, I am'

"You are gluttonous "

'Yes, I am'

"And you are wrathful"

'Yes, I truly am'

Meliodas' P.O.V

I woke up in a sweat, that was some nightmare. I turn my head around to see a certain silver haired girl next to me. She's been sleeping in my room since Ban claimed hers. I'm glad Hawk ties me up, cause if not Elizabeth would be up and worrying about me, which, as much as I like her being concerned for me, I really don't want her too. I unwrap the ropes on me - trying not to break them or Hawk will get suspicious - grab a sharp knife, and go to the downstairs bathroom.

I close the door and roll up my sleeve revealing my older cuts. Some were fresh and some overlapped. I found an untouched piece of skin and carefully pushed the blade to my skin, letting out a small, barely noticeable hiss of pain before smiling as I saw the red liquid seeping out of my skin. I repeated this process another few times then bandaged my arms and cleaned my blood off the floor.

Ban's P.O.V

I hear the Cap'n go down the stairs. It was oddly early so I followed him. What I found surprised me, he was sweating and looked shaken. He was going to the bathroom so I started going back to bed, but then I saw a silver glint near his hand. I followed him, just out side the door, respecting his boundaries.

"A-agh!" Someone familiar hissed. I looked back at the bathroom door to hear it again, it was coming from the Cap'n!
I used 'Zero sign' and went into the bathroom and saw a shocking sight.

Meliodas was sitting on the toilet seat, knife in hand, cutting and bleeding. They weren't just new ones either, there were ones that looked months old, then some from very recently. I looked at his face then saw him smiling as he cut inch deep into his arms.

Soon after, Cap'n got up and bandaged himself up, then cleaned the floor and left.

"Why?" I asked myself as 'Zero Sign' faded. He was full of hidden sadness.
