"oh my god, stop sniffling."

jungmo handed seol some tissues he took from his bag, like he is instructing her to blow her nose into them. after she did, she stopped sniffling but her red eyes and tear-stained cheeks are too visible for him to handle.

he cupped her face in his hands — they are soft, delicate, warm extremities that can make her fall in love, or maybe she just already did in the first place. seol doesn't look up and refuses to face him because she knows right now his eyes are on her, and she wouldn't be able to handle that.

if he keeps this up it would be bad and unhealthy for her heart. she hopes for every single pound on her chest to shut up because she's afraid that he'd notice. though thankfully he doesn't notice any of it — or so she thought.

"you're making me look like the bad guy here." jungmo puffed out his cheeks and let out his breath, wiping the few stray tears off her face with both of his thumbs. he thought her cheeks felt warm, but he doesn't know whether it is because she is blushing or she has been crying. jungmo assumed it is the latter right away.

it is one thing to bawl one's eyes out inside the movie theater, but it's another when they are already outside where people can clearly see. people are staring at jungmo like he's a jerk who was just caught cheating on her or some other scenarios made in their own heads.

his cold handsome face played a big role on those scenarios, and those glares he just unknowingly threw supported those scenarios perfectly..

the movie they watched — five feet apart was too sad for seol to not bawl her eyes out. jungmo was silently watching the movie. it felt really childish but the thought of kim minkyu and seol are still bothering him. just not that intense, he still could focus on the movie, thankfully.

he kept on reminding himself, they are probably just friends, being reunited. it is normal for someone to be that happy to meet their old friends. even if they aren't just friends, what about it? it is none of his business and he has no right to interfere.

he was still disgusted with himself for being unlikely him, until her sniffles interrupted his train of thoughts.

he looked at his side only to find seol's eyes were glazed with a glassy layer of tears. as she blinked, they dripped from her eyelids and slid down her cheeks.

at that moment, jungmo suddenly wants to disown her. it is no secret that jungmo isn't a fan of romance movies. yet here he is.

a heavy sigh escaped her mouth. "it's based on a true story.."

"i will disown you right now if you don't plan to wash that face."

the drive back home was silence. it was not the awkward kind of silence, moreover it seems like they both enjoy each other's companies. honestly she has been wondering how the hell are they staying comfortable as friends like this, after weird dramatic ass shit they have been through — a guy she doesn't know, bothered her then jungmo lost his temper, and the man bigger than him was beaten up by him.

they became quite the talk of school for about three months or maybe until recently. stupid rumors spreaded around about how seol is a gold-digger because it is no secret jungmo is well-off and they made up their own malicious stories about how did jungmo end up with her when in fact nothing happened between them.
