Two - Drive!

Ten sprinted away from the lab, attempting to look past her terrible condition; having being stuck in a lab for all of her life she didn't exactly know how to run that well. The sun was setting in the west, giving the sky a bright orange color.
'Nice' she awed.
Back to her current issue, she noticed that the base was surrounded by a metal fence with curly wires at the top. She surprisingly hadn't been followed, General Cooper would have to give orders, and as far as he's concerned she's dead. She reached a gate with a man inside between the base and her freedom, a large truck with camouflage sat by it. The gate opened, and she had an idea.

Ten focused her powers on the man sitting inside of the little shack. She felt herself enter his body, able to control his surroundings. She looked at the buttons with a confused expression, but dug into the man's memories to see what to press.

"Blue!" the possessed man exclaimed as if he were an excited child.

He immediately clicked on the blue button and the gate opened, on the other side of the gate, Ten's body had slowly walked towards the other side, she controlled herself and the man in the shack. She wasn't sure
how quickly this would drain her, seeing that she's never done this before, but now wasn't the time to worry about that.

She walked away from the base, trying to avoid the road that lead to it. She left the man's body after walking away and wiped the blood around her nose. Despite overusing her powers and escaping a military base, she felt more at peace with herself than she had in the past 16 years of her life. No one was controlling her now, she made her own rules.
It had been about 40 minutes of walking for Ten, she felt tired and worn, Her body needed to rest soon. Ten stopped in her tracks and noticed a truck in the distance. She ran towards the white truck as it came closer, halting in-front of it on the road. The driver immediately stopped the truck, slamming the breaks. It briefly missed Ten's body by a few feet.

"Are you fucking insane?!" The driver yelled as he opened the door and came closer to the girl. He realized that something was wrong with the girl, she had on a hospital gown, shaven hair, and cuts all over her body.

"What th-" The man started, but Ten cut him off. She grabbed his arm and looked at him in his eyes, "Hawkins Lab. Take me there, now." She demanded. He nodded silently and returned to the drivers side of the truck, she walked up to the passenger side and opened the door, sitting then closing it.
"Drive."

-3 days later-

As the truck grew nearer and nearer to Hawkins, Ten knew she had to get out sooner rather than later. She knew she looked different compared to other people, she couldn't just waltz around in town without causing a scene.

"Stop now." Ten commanded, there were enough trees that could hide her around here. She wasn't too close to town, but wasn't too far either. Ten opened the passenger door and hopped out, briefly telling the man, "Go back, forget me." Before slamming the door. The truck drove off into the town, leaving Ten to herself for the first time in days. The sun had set hours ago, and now she was on a mission to find her sister. Ten looked at the direction of the trees and felt a rush of fear go throughout her body. 'Safer than base' she thought to herself. She began walking into the woods, pushing away the feelings she had. She was absolutely lost in the woods but felt calm, she had only been outside twice before this as far as she can remember. She heard the unfamiliar sounds of nature; Crickets chirping, owls hooting, and the sound of dead leaves crunching under her feet. It all felt so serene to her, a foreign sense of calmness coming to her.

She continued walking in random directions for a while, when she finally reached a spot that seemed different to her. She saw a large pool in front of a giant house, 'bath!' She thought to herself happily. She hadn't felt clean in so long, she climbed down the dirt and came closer to the pool, removing her hospital gown. Ten walked to the stairs on the pool, slowly submerging herself into the warmth of the water. She rubbed off the blood and dirt stains on her body, her feet were relieved as she had not been wearing shoes... well for a long time. Ten stayed in the shallow end, she had almost drowned in a project at the base and was terrified of swimming since.

Suddenly, she heard a door loudly swing open and close shut. She turned her head in the direction and saw a boy with fluffy brown hair holding a baseball bat with nails on the end, she could hear his heart racing.

"Who the hell is in our pool?!"

A/N: oh my gosh I published this without even finishing it, so sorry about that!! Anyway this is my first fanfic since I was like 13 hehe. I'd appreciate (kind) feedback and if y'all wanna suggest something then please go ahead, I might end up including it :)
