(3rd POV)

When the boy has completely disappeared both Jungkook and Taehyung notice their heavy breathing and aching feet. After one last look around the alley they turn back around and walk back to the bakery. Only now do they notice just how far they had chased the boy while walking back.

"I hope he's okay," Jungkook says feeling a little dejected. Taehyung notices Jungkook's sullen attitude and lays a hand on his shoulder.

"Jungkook that boy is probably fine. He had no scratches or bruises and ran before we could do anything." Taehyung looked at Jungkook's closed fists and suppressed the urge to grab his hands. He wanted to squeeze them tight with his trust and reassurance. His hand hesitated, but after a minute he let his hand slide onto Jungkook's, grasping at his slightly smaller hand. Jungkook gasped, taken out of his thoughts and looked at Taehyung who kept looking down in embarrassment, still not understanding why it was so hard for him to hold Jungkook's hand.

Jungkook looked up to Taehyung, but after one glance at Taehyung's soft raven-hued eyes he felt words fail him as he continued to stare. He squeezed Taehyung's hand to let him know he was fine and that he appreciated his kindness. The simple gesture felt so intimate between the two as they both looked away from each other with red faces connected only by their intertwined hands.

As they neared the bakery entrance Jungkook reluctantly pulled away and immediately started to feel cold, missing the warm hand that once enveloped all his worries and doubts. Taehyung coughed feeling awkward, but eventually regained his minimal composure enough to open the bakery door for the both of them. Taehyung thought for a moment and then looked back at Jungkook.

"Okay Jungkook let's make the best macarons this bakery has ever seen!" The statement was accompanied by Taehyung's bright boxy smile. Jungkook looked back at Taehyung, surprised, before he smiled at the challenge and nodded his head.

"This bakery won't know what hit it."

Two bags of buttercream and copious amounts of sprinkles later Jungkook and Taehyung had finally finished their macarons with accomplished smiles. The macarons had too much buttercream in them and were closed sloppily, but the fact that they had made them themselves made the macarons look perfect. Despite this the two of them had found themselves messier than the macarons with buttercream on their faces and sprinkles on their clothes.

"How did we do this?" Taehyung asks gesturing towards their clothes. There is a slight smile playing across his face, but he sounds genuinely confused.

"I-I have no idea," Jungkook utters while licking some of the buttercream off from his sleeve. They both pause and look at each other seriously. Taehyung can't hold in his laughter and starts to laugh loudly. Jungkook laughs as well clapping his hands together.

"W-we should really clean up though," Jungkook says suppressing his laughter and wiping a tear that had rolled down his cheek amidst all the laughter.

"Agreed."

They go to separate bathrooms and clean off buttercream and sprinkles. Taehyung steps out after Jungkook and sees him inspecting a note and a bottle of champagne.

"What's that?" Taehyung ask while pointing to the note. Jungkook looks up at him and answers.

"It's a note from Ara, apparently she left this for us to enjoy with the macarons." Jungkook looks down embarrassed. "It was addressed to you, sorry for reading it."

"No it's fine." Taehyung takes the champagne and smiles, a mischievous thought appearing. "Well I mean she left it so I guess we have to drink it now don't we."

"What?!" Jungkook shoots his eyes to Taehyung and then to the bottle. "Are you crazy we're still in high school, we can't drink that."

Taehyung laughs at Jungkook's innocent nature, one of the things he loved about him.

"What, do you think a police officer is gonna sneak up on us and arrest us for having a couple glasses?" Taehyung says though it's not really a question, but rather a poke at Jungkook. "Besides it's rude to not accept gifts."

"I-I guess."

"And hey I'm not forcing you if you don't want any, that's perfectly fine." Taehyung holds the bottle away from Jungkook not wanting to force him into doing anything he doesn't want to do.

"N-no I've always wanted to try champagne and what a better time than with some macarons." Jungkoook looks up at Taehyung and smiles, letting his bunny teeth show slightly. Taehyung's heart flutters, seeing the happy go lucky person he fell in love with.

"Okay then it's settled." Taehyung announces before grabbing two glasses, handing one to Jungkook and setting the other on the table Jungkook found the champagne on. Taehyung makes a big deal of popping it open and Jungkook's eyes light up at the shimmering foam coming from the bottle. He lets out a breathless 'wow' before tilting his glass towards Taehyung.

Taehyung fills the glass half way letting the sparkles dissipate before pouring himself some. Then he grabs the two plates of macarons and sets them in their respective places in front of the two boys.

"Let's eat!" Taehyung cheers before grabbing his glass and holding it out to Jungkook. Jungkook looks confused before he understands and clinks his glass lightly to Taehyung's before they both look pleased at the taste.

"It's kinda sweet yet slightly sour, so cool," Jungkook raves still feeling very happy at the subdued lemon taste.

"Yeah I feel like an adult," Taehyung comments before smiling at Jungkook. After that they take a bite of their macarons gawking at the delicious taste.

"Damn we should just be bakers now," Jungkook states with a proud grin.

"Whoa hold on there Carlos' bakery." Jungkook laughs lightly at the tease and continues to eat the macaron.

They were both talking and laughing when Jungkook started to cough. It started out fine until it got progressively louder and worse. They became violent hacks, almost like he was coughing his lungs out. Taehyung, witnessing all this dropped his macaron to the floor and rushed to Jungkook's side.

"Jungkook what's the matter?!" Jungkook couldn't answer though as he started to clutch his throat.

"P-please--can't-" Jungkook fell to the floor as his eyes became watery. "Breathe."

His eyelids felt so heavy and everything was spinning. He didn't know if it was his tears or his piercing headache, but he could barely make out Taehyung's scared expression. Taehyung started chest compressions, but they didn't seem to be helping.

"Jungkook, please stay with me-" Taehyung cried as hot tears pricked his eyes. Jungkook stopped coughing for a second filling Taehyung with relief. That relief was short lived though as Jungkook spoke.

"Taehyung?" His eyes were now dry and he had stopped crying.

"I'm right here." Taehyung held Jungkook's hand with both of his hands. Squeezing his hands like Jungkook was his whole world and he would fall without him.

"I-I can't see you." Tears erupted from his eyes and once again began to fall, "Everything is spinning."

"I'm right here." Taehyung repeated and his heart broke at how scared Jungkook sounded. He kissed his forehead lightly and wiped a tear of his cheek. Jungkook smiled sweetly and then closed his eyes seeming to take his last breath.

"NO JUNGKOOK!" Taehyung screamed, but he was the only one to there to hear it.
