Alas, the tour had ended. I would be returning to Japan.

No, I was already returning. I simply had not touched down yet.

Above the cotton candy clouds, dyed a mystifying pastel purple and pink, in a dimming sky.

It would be around 2am when I landed.

There was 6 hours more.

With nothing to do before dinner service, I slipped out my fan mail from the satchel next to me. At the start of my tour, the Kiryu members would give a call once in a while, Mahiro included. Mahiro continued to give calls once every week, while the others had changed to sending text messages.

I flip through the envelopes, the artworks, the letters, the photographs... And my eyes land on a special stack I had saved. The Kiryu members always made sure that with each country I travelled to, they would send me a letter and a parcel. I had not opened the mail I received from the last location, in North America.

After carefully packing away the rest of the fanmail, I proceeded to peel off the stamp that sealed the envelope.

It contained a few group cheki for the bpr bands. How I missed the whole group. The back of the cheki was filled with the members congratulations and more messages. There were small doodles, adorable messages and more. Alas, I reached for the letter, instantly recognising the handwriting.

Mahiro's letter, despite written in pen, seemed to be smudged with several pencil and eraser marks. It was adorable, how he still could not get certain terms and kanji right.

Hey

You'll be back soon, right? I've been looking forward to your return. As I write this, the calendar countdown states it's just less than a week till you'll be back.

We've already been calling each other, so I don't know what else to add to this letter.

It's been practically one year.

We've celebrated each other's birthdays over the phone, and I'm sorry for the huge package sent to you during your birthday. Everyone wanted to give you a gift, although we had promised to send over one collective gift.

If you didn't realise, Christmas is coming up in a few days!

You told me your schedule would be clear that day,  so I prepared a present for you.

Actually, I also have a present for you once you arrive, and maybe a few extra...

Well, I suppose I shouldn't add more details, or I'd spoil the surprise.

I'm waiting.

Smiling to myself, I folded the letter back into its envelope, opening the box that came with it. It was rather small. Inside was a cute keychain of an owl. In fact, the face of the owl seemed to be painted over, now displaying the face of the owl representing Mahiro in the Kiryu merchandise.

It was a cute thing, really.

On closer inspection, the head of the owl could be popped off, revealing a key. I wondered what the key was for.

The trip was rather quiet, even during dinner. Perhaps most of the passengers were already asleep. With the silence of the cabin, I undoubtedly began to doze off as well.

I awoke as the plane began to tilt downward. So, we had begun our descent.

I was just a few minutes away from seeing the one person I had missed.

And our descent had ended rather quickly, as we now taxied back to the airport.

Hastily, I grabbed my carry-on luggage and my satchel, alighting and immediately heading to pick up my luggage.

I somehow managed to get all three huge luggages onto one trolley, with one more smaller one on top, and left my satchel on my back, now pushing my way out of the airport, immediately greeted by the BP Records members. Only one person seemed to be missing. The ravenette was nowhere in sight.

Perhaps my slight disappointment had rubbed off on some of the members. I knew he would be here somewhere. It was just kind of sad that he wasn't the first person to greet me after landing.

They helped me with my luggage and some of my closer friends from BP Records had accompanied me to a taxi, where they had me blindfolded, and sensing the slight tension, tried to lighten the mood with conversation.

After awhile, I heard the doors of the taxi open, coins being exchanged, and the boys helped me out. I was rather uncertain of what in the world was going on, but let them lead me to wherever I needed to be.

The corridor seemed long, and I eventually found myself sitting down, in what seemed like a rather comfy chair. The door shut shortly after, the boys' voices now muffled.

Their voices seemed to trail away, eventually fading off. It wasn't long before I heard the door open again, with no clue as to who had entered.

"Hey..."

That voice. I could sense his presence right in front of me. I reached out to him, and felt the warmth of his hand wrap around mine.

"Sorry if they treated you a little rough. Let me help you get that off..."

With slight reluctance, he removed his hand from mine, and I could feel his breath over my left ear as he worked on the blindfold. Before long, the fabric was taken off my0p eyes, and I couldn't help but smile at the person before me.

"You're finally smiling, you weren't very smiley throughout the entire trip."

"That's because you weren't around."

We both laughed a little. It had been so long since we'd seen each other face to face again.

And for a split second, our eyes seemed stuck onto each other's, the distance between us nearing, and-

"Oi, what's taking the two of you so lo- sorry for intruding, go ahead!"

Once the door closed, and Chamu left, we turned back to each other, closing the distance, and I'd found his lips on mine.

His kiss was soft and gentle, perhaps a little unsure. It was a nice feeling, to say the least.

We pulled back after awhile, slightly dazed at what had happened.

"I'm sorry-", he started.

"No, no, no that was me, I'm so sorry-"

"Was that too fast? I-"

"That was alright, I suppose..."

After we had calmed down from our slight panic, Mahiro escorted me out of the room.

"I suppose we've kept the guests at the party for too long already, so..."

As he used his little arms to push open the grand doors to what seemed like a relatively huge party hall filled with balloons and food, I heard them all shout in unison.

"Welcome home, [Y/N]!"

That night was the best night I had had in my life, unforgettable, not regrettable, and a whole lot of fun.
